Enshrouded 1.0: How to Unlock the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin Hollow Halls

Crafting the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin Bone Keys, finding both entrances, and what each new dungeon pays out.

Crafting the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin Bone Keys, finding both entrances, and what each new dungeon pays out.

Enshrouded 1.0 opens two more Hollow Halls in Embervale. One is in the frozen Albaneve Summits and the other is in the flooded Veilwater Basin. Both are sealed crypts packed with Hollow enemies, and both stay locked until you bring the right Bone Key. The Collector crafts each key, and the Collector also gives you the quest that leads to each door. The two halls are chained together, because the Veilwater key needs a material that only drops inside Albaneve.

Quick answer: Have the Collector make a Bone Key for every hall, then use its corresponding quest to reach the entrance. Tackle Albaneve Summits before Veilwater Basin: the latter’s key requires Icy Giant Bones found inside the former.

Collector requirements for the new Hollow Halls

Everything runs through the Collector, Alden Crowley. You free him at the end of the Springlands Hollow Halls, and he is the same survivor who already makes the Revelwood, Nomad Highlands, and Kindlewastes Bone Keys. His list now runs to 81 recipes, including both new keys, Ectoplasm food, crypt furniture, Bone Arrows, and Eternal spells and arrows such as Eternal Hollow Wretch and Eternal Giant Bone Arrow.

He won’t craft much until he has a home. The Collector Needs Shelter quest asks you to build him a bed in a protected spot inside your base. A new bed goes to the nearest free survivor automatically, and you can hand it to someone else by aiming the Summoning Staff at it. The quest pops back up if the Collector ever loses his shelter, which is a quick way to spot why a recipe suddenly isn’t available.

Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin Bone Key recipes

Both keys are Rare items crafted at the Collector. Each recipe shows up in his menu once you pick up a specific tier of Ectoplasm for the first time.

Each key opens the doors inside its own hall, not just the front gate, so keep it on you for the whole run. Some chests inside also cost Ectoplasm to open. Since 1.0, the chests in each hall’s final rooms take 25% less Ectoplasm than before, but it still pays to carry a reserve.

Where to get each Bone Key material

Together the two keys eat 45 Ectoplasm Gems, which is the slowest part of the whole process. Start making them early.

Ectoplasm Gem

The Collector presses Bonemeal, Water, and Ectoplasm into gems, one gem per craft. Any Ectoplasm tier works, from Fragment through Shard, Crystal, Cluster, and Aggregate. The recipe unlocks when you first pick up an Ectoplasm Fragment, and it only works while the Collector is sheltered under a roof. Gems stack to 250.

Giant Bones

Giant Bones drop from the Hollow Cyclops. You first meet one at the end of the Revelwood Hollow Halls. If you already ran the older halls, there’s a decent chance a few are sitting in storage.

Silver Bars and Gold Bars

Both bars come out of the Blast Furnace. Silver Bars are smelted from Silver Ore and Coal, and the recipe unlocks the first time you pick up Silver Ore. Gold Bars are smelted from Coal and either Gold Ore or Archaic Shards.

Icy Giant Bones

Icy Giant Bones only drop from enemies inside the Albaneve Summits Hollow Halls, and the Hollow Wispwyvern in Veilwater drops them too. That first source is what locks the order. You need just one for the Veilwater key, but grab extras because other Collector recipes use them as well.

How to unlock the Albaneve Summits Hollow Halls

The Collector gives you a quest called The Albaneve Summits Hollow Halls, and it has three stages.

At the Collector, use 1 Giant Bones, 1 Silver Bars, and 20 Ectoplasm Gem to make the Albaneve Summits Bone Key.
Accept the quest and follow its marker into the Albaneve Summits. The entrance sits about 1,100 meters in a straight line southeast of the Cinder’s Cradle – Sky Islands Ancient Spire. The Spooky Tomb is around 250 meters south of the door, and a Flame Shrine is about 600 meters away.
Use the Bone Key on the entrance and head down. Reaching the end completes the objective Master The Albaneve Summits Hollow Halls.

The hall is spider country. Expect Summit Spiders, Summit Spitting Spiders, Summit Bats, and the Summit Spider Mama. It’s also big and vertical, with 14 Grappling Points and 13 Updrafts to get around.

Don’t leave Albaneve without at least one Icy Giant Bones in your bag, or you’ll be running the hall again before you can craft the Veilwater key.

How to unlock the Veilwater Basin Hollow Halls

The Veilwater Basin hall comes from the Collector’s quest The Veilwater Basin Hollow Halls, which also has three stages.

Craft the Veilwater Basin Bone Key at the Collector. It takes 1 Gold Bars, 1 Icy Giant Bones, and 25 Ectoplasm Gem.
Take the quest, then head to the entrance after the Collector marks its location. From the Veilwater Basin Ancient Spire, travel east; the entrance is roughly 1,450 meters away in a straight line. The Balefire Tower “1000 Miles” stands about 350 meters northwest, Old Hag’s Hut is around 500 meters south, and a Flame Shrine is roughly 350 meters away. Crabs roam outside on the ground.
Open the door with the Bone Key and work your way down. Reaching the end completes Master The Veilwater Hollow Halls.

Keen Games recommends bringing your snorkel here, a clue to how much of the area is underwater. The boss is Hollow Wispwyvern, which drops Ectoplasm Aggregate, Icy Giant Bones, the Hollow Wispwyvern Head, and Legendary Runes. The hall contains a puzzle and 3 Jump Pads as well. In the final stage, the objective marker appears in rooms with orange-glowing floor tiles.

Hollow Halls completion rewards and loot

You know a hall is done when its Master objective clears and the quest reward lands. Each hall pays XP plus a Rough Wood Block, and both are stuffed with chests.

Two side quests hook into the new halls as well. Hidden Crafting Recipes — Hollow Halls (recommended level 25, 75 XP) starts when you find a hidden recipe inside any hall and asks you to collect every one across each biome’s Halls for decorative pieces. Red Marble Decoration (recommended level 32) starts from a note inside the Veilwater Basin hall. Push through to the end of that hall to find the red marble arch recipe, which rewards the Small Red Marble Arc and the Red Marble Column.
