In Enshrouded 1.0, all five pieces of the Scholar of the Young Flame set are held in locked silver chests in the Kindlewastes, so take lockpicks with you. The set consists of a Helmet, Cloak, Gloves, Pants, and Boots. These Common cosmetics provide no armor or stats. Equip them in the cosmetic slots, and your actual armor remains effective underneath.
Quick answer: Open five locked silver chests in the Kindlewastes (near Low Tide, the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls, the Draconian Vulture Nest, a south-west Sun Temple and the Obelisk Excavation Camp) with lockpicks; all five pieces complete the journal set for 125 XP.
| Piece | Where |
|---|---|
| Helmet | West of a Gem Forge, east of Low Tide |
| Cloak | Below a puzzle gold chest |
| Gloves | Below the Draconian Vulture Nest |
| Pants | South-west Kindlewastes, south-east of a Sun Temple |
| Boots | Below a Return Beacon, near the Obelisk Excavation Camp |
Each piece is found in a specific chest rather than as a random drop. All five locations appear on the map’s unique-loot layer.
Every chest is on our interactive Enshrouded map under unique loot, with the Return Beacons named below.
- Scholar of the Young Flame Helmet
- Scholar of the Young Flame Cloak
- Scholar of the Young Flame Gloves
- Scholar of the Young Flame Pants
- Scholar of the Young Flame Boots
- Scholar of the Young Flame Set journal entry
Where to find every Scholar of the Young Flame piece
Each chest needs a lockpick, so carry one per piece.
Scholar of the Young Flame Helmet
The Helmet’s locked silver chest is about 50 m west of a Gem Forge and about 160 m east of Low Tide. For a fast-travel point, a Return Beacon and Night Sanctum sit about 130 m to the north.
Item text: “A radiant headpiece that can be spotted from afar. Not only when the burning sun reflects off of it.”
Scholar of the Young Flame Cloak
Find the puzzle gold chest first. The Cloak’s locked silver chest is about 35 m south of it and about 35 m lower. A Return Beacon is about 60 m to the north-west, and the Kindlewastes Hollow Halls entrance is about 130 m to the south-west.
Item text: “A resplendent white-and-gold cloak interwoven with iridescent threads. Worn by the “Scholars of the Young Flame”, it symbolizes the burning desire to illuminate the unknown.”
Scholar of the Young Flame Gloves
The Gloves are far below the Draconian Vulture Nest, where Galen Yager is found. Their locked silver chest is about 135 m lower than the nest. A Return Beacon is about 100 m to the east at the same height as the chest, and a Hidden Temple is about 90 m to the south-west.
Item text: “Gleaming golden gloves were the mark of a Scholar in motion, swift of thought and radiant of heart.”
Scholar of the Young Flame Pants
The Pants are in the south-west of the Kindlewastes, about 350 m south-east of a Sun Temple. Their locked silver chest is about 75 m west of a Return Beacon and Night Sanctum.
Item text: “Delicate fabric with intricate details, ever-shifting with the angle of the sun. Worn by the Scholars who chased knowledge across these lands.”
Scholar of the Young Flame Boots
The Boots’ locked silver chest is about 25 m west of a Return Beacon and Night Sanctum, and about 50 m below it. Up the slope to the south-west are the Obelisk Excavation Camp, about 100 m away, and an Ancient Obelisk, about 65 m away.
Item text: “These golden boots carried the “Scholars of the Young Flame” across the open roads of Embervale. The soles still carry dust from places you have yet to discover.”
Scholar of the Young Flame Set journal entry
The journal tracks the set under the Kindlewastes clothing sets. When you pick up the fifth piece, the “Scholar of the Young Flame Set” entry completes and awards 125 XP.
The five-piece Scholar Of The Empyrean cosmetic set belongs to the Nomad Highlands and is separate from this one. None of its pieces count toward the Kindlewastes entry.
To show off the set, equip the pieces in your cosmetic slots. The gold-and-white look goes over whatever armor you actually fight in, and your stats stay the same.
