The quest Flame Altar And Base Improvements asks you to collect Sparks, and one sits inside the Flame Sanctum southwest of Braelyn Bridge. Sparks feed the Flame Altar back at your base, letting you push deeper into the Shroud and claim more territory for new bases. The fastest way to grab this one is a short glide-and-run route from the Ancient Spire – Springlands.

Where the Flame Sanctum is located
The Flame Sanctum you need is a stone building sitting southwest of Braelyn Bridge, and south-southwest of the Ancient Spire – Springlands. On the world map it uses the same yellow diamond flame icon shared by every Flame Shrine and Flame Sanctum. The difference is that a Sanctum is an enclosed building you walk into, while a Shrine is an open platform out in the wild.
Each Springlands Sanctum gives a single Spark. The reward scales up in later biomes, so it is worth knowing what every visit returns before you plan a longer collection run.
Open the world map and place a waypoint on the Flame Sanctum icon southwest of Braelyn Bridge. This puts a floating orange diamond marker in the world and on your compass bar, so you can follow it the whole way there.
Fast travel to the summit of Ancient Spire – Springlands, or begin there if you’re already nearby. From the balcony, launch yourself over its southwest side, then glide across the shroud-covered valley toward the green canyon ridge.
Land on the grassy slope at the far side and sprint into the rocky gorge ahead. Head for the dark cave opening set between the rocks and enter the Cave Passage.

Move straight through the Cave Passage tunnel and out the far side into the sunlit ravine. If you lose your bearings, open the map briefly to confirm the waypoint is still ahead of you.

Follow the trail along the ravine and keep going straight as you pass the settlement of Peaceful Acres. You can grab this location discovery along the way, then continue toward the marker.
Climb the narrow, winding dirt path between the rocky cliff walls, heading directly for the waypoint compass marker. The path leads right up to the Sanctum’s stone entrance, and a “WAYPOINT REACHED” banner confirms you have arrived.

Collect the Spark and confirm the quest update
Open the heavy metal doors at the front of the Flame Sanctum and step into the interior chamber. The Spark sits in the burning flame vessel on the central platform.
Walk up to the burning brazier and interact with it. You will see Spark +1 added to your inventory and a “QUEST UPDATED Flame Altar And Base Improvements” message, which confirms the pickup counted toward the objective.
A lore note titled “MY DEAREST HELEN” rests on the floor beside two skeletons near the flame, logged under the entry “TO REMEMBER MOUNTAINS.” It is optional, but grabbing it adds a journal entry while you are already inside.
Once you have the Spark, head back to your Flame Altar and offer it there to raise the Flame Level. Sparks do respawn over time, so you can return to this Sanctum later if you need more for the next upgrade.
