In Enshrouded, Fertile Springlands Dirt comes straight out of the ground. You dig grassy terrain in the Springlands with your Pickaxe. That first dig also unlocks a Workbench recipe, so you can craft more once you have the ingredients.
Quick answer: Use a Pickaxe on grassy terrain in the Springlands to collect Fertile Springlands Dirt. This unlocks its Workbench recipe, which combines Farm Soil 1 with Springlands Dirt 9 to produce x10.
How to get Fertile Springlands Dirt and unlock its recipe
You need the Pickaxe and grassy ground in the Springlands. We dug the grass next to our campfire, inside our Flame Altar’s area, at night.

The recipe marks Farm Soil with “Farmer” because you craft Farm Soil at the Farmer once you rescue the Farmer from the Ancient Vault. Until then, Farm Soil reads 0 / 1 in red, and you cannot craft it.
