Shroud Gelatin is a translucent, glowing material pulled from Shroud Depthdwellers, the floating jellyfish-like enemies that drift through the deepest Shroud zones of Embervale. It feeds a long list of armor pieces and higher-tier alchemy recipes, so most players end up farming it in bulk. The fastest reliable source sits in the Nomad Highlands Shroud, a short glide from the Ancient Spire.
Quick answer: Fast travel to the Ancient Spire in the Nomad Highlands, glide southwest into the Shroud ravine at the Enshrouded Elixir Well, and shoot the floating Shroud Depthdwellers. Each kill drops 1 to 12 Shroud Gelatin.
What Shroud Gelatin is and where it comes from
Shroud Gelatin is an Uncommon crafting material rated at item level 18. It stacks up to 250 per inventory slot, which matters because several armor recipes want it in batches of three to six. The only way to get it is to kill Shroud Depthdwellers, a Fell-family enemy. There is no gathering node and no craftable substitute.
Depthdwellers are the drifting, glowing creatures that hang in the air inside dense Shroud pockets. The first place the game points you to them is the Nomad Highlands Shroud, but larger versions spawn across several regions once you have unlocked them. They fire self-propelled electric orbs, so ranged weapons are the sane choice.

Fighting Shroud Depthdwellers
Depthdwellers dodge in tight groups and launch electric orbs that travel toward you. Engage from range, sidestep each orb as it closes, and keep moving so the pack cannot surround you. Clusters of them appear alongside stationary plant-pod enemies deeper in the canyon, so clear the fliers first.

Light armor keeps you agile enough to dodge, and clearing the fliers in systematic sweeps limits respawns interrupting your looting runs.
Other regions where Depthdwellers spawn
Once you have progressed further, the Large Shroud Depthdweller appears in several regions, each with a set number of spawn points. If the Nomad Highlands run gets crowded or picked clean, these are your alternatives.
| Region | Spawn points |
|---|---|
| Kindlewastes | 11 |
| Nomad Highlands | 9 |
| Albaneve Summits | 5 |
| Veilwater Basin | 4 |
| Cinder’s Cradle | 2 |
The same enemy also turns up inside the Balefire Stronghold “Iron Heart” and in Battlegrounds encounters, though those are not dedicated farming spots.
What Shroud Gelatin is used to craft
Shroud Gelatin goes primarily into armor, with a few pieces split across the Blacksmith, Alchemist, and Hunter stations. It also upgrades into Shroud Sludge, a Level 40 Common material used in higher-tier alchemy. Plan your farm around the quantities below so you do not run short mid-craft.
| Product | Station | Shroud Gelatin |
|---|---|---|
| Blacksmith | 3 | |
| Blacksmith | 3 | |
| Blacksmith | 3 | |
| Alchemist | 4 | |
| Alchemist | 4 | |
| Alchemist | 4 | |
| Hunter | 3 | |
| Hunter | 6 | |
| Hunter | 6 | |
| Alchemist | 5 |
Shroud Sludge sits at the top of that chain. It combines 5 Shroud Gelatin with Shroud Slime and Pink Mushroom Meat at the Alchemist, crafted under a roof with a Sheltered Bed and Mortar in place. Several of the armor pieces, such as the Blackguard Trousers and Plaguebringer Hood, also carry Shroud-protection perks that extend how long you survive in these zones, which makes the material something of a loop worth farming early.
Confirming you picked it up
Open your backpack after a run. Shroud Gelatin shows as a Materials item tagged Level 18, Uncommon, with its own stack count in the corner of the icon. If the count has gone up, the drops registered. Any crafting recipe that needs it will then fill its requirement bar green at the matching station, which tells you that you have gathered enough to build the piece.
