Star Signs is Elio Ricci’s side quest in Enshrouded. The Barber wants a telescope so he can watch the stars, and the only way to learn how one is built is to visit Andromeda’s Eye. This Ancient observatory ruin stands in the lower wasteland of Cinder’s Cradle, north of the Ancient Gate and Lake Luma. The quest has two objectives. You learn the telescope’s design at the ruin, then you report back to the Barber.
Quick answer: Go to Andromeda’s Eye, read the Observatory Report, loot the telescope platform across the lava bridge, then talk to Elio Ricci and pick “! A Telescope For Us.”
Star Signs quest giver, objectives, and rewards
You start Star Signs by speaking to Elio Ricci. He is the Barber you rescue in the Springlands, and he lets you change your character’s appearance. Once he lives at your base, you also hand the quest in to him there. The journal lists the quest at Hard difficulty, so expect hostile ground around the observatory.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Quest giver | |
| Objective 1 | Find Out How To Assemble A Telescope |
| Objective 2 | Talk To The Barber |
| Location | Andromeda’s Eye, Cinder’s Cradle |
| Quest reward | 225 XP and Giant Telescope |
| Bonus at the ruin | 35 XP, A Distant Star palette recipe |
The Giant Telescope is not a physical item that drops into your bag. Completing the quest unlocks its recipe, and you then craft the telescope at the Decoration Workbench.

How to know Star Signs is complete
Each objective gives you a clear signal. After you loot the telescope platform, the tracked quest switches from “Find Out How To Assemble A Telescope” to “Talk to The Barber.” The journal entry also notes that you can now craft a telescope yourself. If the objective has not changed, go back and collect the loot on the platform.
At your base, Elio responds with his own take on the stars:
“Will this tell me if Mercury is in retrograde…? …What, that’s astrology, not astronomy? Oh, that’s so ‘Pisces’ of me…!”
The “QUEST COMPLETED! Star Signs” banner then appears, you receive 225 XP, and the Giant Telescope is added to the Decoration Workbench’s recipes.

Star Signs unlocks: Giant Telescope and A Distant Star
The quest gives you two cosmetic unlocks for your base. Both are Common rarity and stack to 50.

| Unlock | Type | Crafted at | How you get it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Furniture decoration | Decoration Workbench | Star Signs reward | |
| Color palette | Coloring Station | Looted at Andromeda’s Eye |
The Giant Telescope is purely decorative and has no gameplay function. A Distant Star belongs to the Color Palettes: Cinder’s Cradle set, and the matching hint appears when you pick up the recipe. A single craft at the Coloring Station produced five palettes during the run.
