Every Attack Uro Can Deflect in Jujutsu Shenanigans (JJS)

A full breakdown of which character moves and map items Uro's counter stops, and which ones go straight through it.

Uro’s second move in Jujutsu Shenanigans is a counter, and like most counters in the game, it is picky. It reads incoming projectiles and swats them away, but a large share of the roster’s kit sails right through the animation. Knowing exactly which moves it catches is the difference between a free reversal and eating a full-damage hit while standing in a deflect pose.

Quick answer: Uro’s counter deflects projectile attacks only. It reliably stops Yuta’s Rika moves, all of ReggieStar’s projectiles, Choso’s Slicing Exorcism, Yuki’s Garuda Rebound (both variants), Todo’s Pebble Throw, Mahito’s Soul Fire, Hanami’s Bud Shot, Locust-Bum’s Venom Spit, Mei Mei’s base bird move, Higuruma’s Hammer Passive and Triple Sentence, Ryu’s uncharged Granite Blast and Appetizer, Gojo’s Base Red Reversal, and Mahoraga’s Ground Pinch. Everything else, including Sukuna’s Fuga, still connects.

How Uro’s counter behaves in JJS

The move is a defensive read, not a block. It exists to intercept things that travel toward you, so it works on beams, thrown objects, summoned projectiles, and similar ranged output. Melee strings, ground-based area attacks, and most awakening moves are simply not part of its detection.

One important quirk: the deflect animation can play even when the counter does not actually work. That visual is not confirmation. If the move was never eligible to be countered, Uro performs the flourish and takes the damage anyway.

Note: Gojo’s Hollow Purple registers as a counter, but it was behaving as a bug rather than intended design when tested, so treat it as unreliable rather than a plan.

ReggieStar’s kit is the cleanest matchup for the counter, since every projectile in it can be deflected.

Throwing deflected projectiles back at other players

Some deflections do more than cancel damage. Choso’s Slicing Exorcism, once caught, becomes an object you control. You can aim it and throw it at another player, which turns a defensive read into offense in a free-for-all lobby.

You will know the catch worked because the projectile stays with Uro instead of passing through and your health bar does not move. If the projectile disappears and you lose HP, the counter did not register.

Attacks that punish the counter

Sukuna is the cleanest example of the trap. Fuga triggers the deflect animation, but Uro still takes the full hit. Sukuna’s kit has nothing at all that the counter stops, so pressing it in that matchup only locks you into recovery frames.

The other consistent failures follow the same pattern. Gojo’s Max Red Reversal and Max Lapse Blue go through. Megumi’s base kit, Great Serpent, Max Elephant, and Shadow Swarm all connect, leaving Mahoraga’s Ground Pinch as the lone exception. Mahito’s ult is not counterable either, despite Soul Fire being fair game.

Two failure causes cover almost everything. Either the move is not a projectile at all, or it is an upgraded or awakened version of a move whose base form is counterable. Charge state matters too, which is why Ryu’s Granite Blast only gets deflected while uncharged.

Map items Uro can deflect

Thrown environmental objects count as projectiles, and the counter handles them well. Trash cans, soccer balls, and even shipping containers get knocked away. If someone is spamming pickups at you across the map, the counter is a straightforward answer.

The practical takeaway is that Uro’s counter is a matchup tool, not a general defensive button. Against Yuta, ReggieStar, or anyone leaning on thrown map objects, it shuts down a large chunk of their pressure. Against Sukuna, an awakened Megumi, or a Gojo sitting on Max moves, blocking or dashing is the safer option.
