The full 33-fighter roster sorted by series, plus the costumes that swap in new ultimate moves.

The Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC finally fills in a lot of the gaps in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero’s launch roster. It pulls fighters from the original Dragon Ball all the way through GT and Super, mixing early-series deep cuts like Eighter with GT heavy hitters like Super 17. Here is exactly who got added, which series they come from, and how you actually get them in your game.

Quick answer: The DLC adds 33 fighters (30 if you don’t count separate transformations) across Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, and Dragon Ball GT. Buy Super Limit-Breaking NEO on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC to unlock them; the free update alone does not grant them.

The 33 additions break down cleanly by era. Bardock (Super Saiyan) and Chilled sit in the movie/filler bucket since they never appeared in the original manga, which is why some fans treat them as non-canon. Here is the complete list grouped by where each fighter comes from.

A few of these are notable comebacks. Ma Junior’s Giant Form hasn’t been playable in ages outside of cutscenes and mobile spin-offs, and Spike the Devil Man is a genuine one-shot rarity. Several of the new fighters also come with exclusive pre-battle dialogue against specific opponents, staying true to the series’ habit of matchup-based intros. If you want a look at the flashier additions, the reveal trailer runs through the newcomers.

The classic-era additions also bring in showy new ultimates. Mercenary Tao and Grandpa Gohan both arrive with their own finishers.

Costumes that add new ultimate moves

Beyond the new fighters, the DLC layers dozens of alternate costumes onto the existing roster. Most are purely cosmetic, but a specific set of outfits actually rewires a character’s Ultimate Blast or unlocks a transformation. These are the ones that change how a fighter plays.

Note: There are more than 40 characters and forms with new outfits in total, but the rest are cosmetic only. Expect skins like Goku’s Cell saga jacket, Broly-movie looks for Videl and Kid Trunks, and battle-damaged variants for several fighters.

How to get the new characters

All 33 fighters are locked behind the paid Super Limit-Breaking NEO DLC. A free update went out alongside it, but that patch only handles new mechanics and stage variants, not the roster. You need the DLC itself to select any of these characters.

Confirm your platform. Super Limit-Breaking NEO is out now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 versions arrive in 2027.
Purchase and install the DLC from your platform’s store or the official product page. Once it’s installed, the new fighters appear as selectable on the character screen instead of showing as locked placeholders.
Verify it worked by opening the character select. If the DLC is active, entries like Grandpa Gohan, Bardock (Super Saiyan), Vegeta (GT), and Super 17 are fully playable rather than greyed out.

What comes with the fighters

The DLC bundles more than just the roster. It adds four new stages, four Episode Battles, and a solo mode called Limit Breaker Journey where you pick a character, grind out battles, and pour points into six core stats to build them your way. Fighters you train there carry over into offline and select online matches.

The four new arenas are Kami’s Lookout, Kame House, the Bitter Tundra, and the Stratosphere (Earth and Planet Vegeta variants), all with heavier destructibility. Separately, the free update everyone gets introduces two combat mechanics and three variations of existing stages.

MechanicHow it works
Sparking! BoostSpend a large chunk of Skill Stock in Sparking! mode for a big attack boost. When it ends, your stats drop temporarily.
Chain BlastAfter launching an opponent, switch to a reserve ally and continue with a Blast for heavy follow-up damage.

Between the classic-era faces, the GT villains, and the costume swaps that rework ultimates, Super Limit-Breaking NEO is the biggest single expansion to Sparking! Zero’s roster so far. If you’re chasing a specific fighter from the list above, the DLC is the only way to add them right now on PS5, Xbox, and PC.
