Zero, the protagonist of Neverness to Everness, ships with six total appearances split between a default look and five unlockable outfits. Some come from story beats and side activities like the Pink Paws Heist or the Sea Angler fishing track, while others sit behind Fons or Riftcrystals in the Mall's Fashion Shop. The male and female versions of Zero share the exact same wardrobe, so unlock conditions don't change based on which body type you picked at character creation.

Every Zero outfit and how to get it
Outfits unlock permanently once obtained and can be swapped from Zero's character status screen at any time outside combat. None of them affect stats or skill values, so the choice is purely cosmetic.
| Outfit | Source | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Beginning of the Story | Default | Free |
| Hunter Off Duty | Pink Paws Den shop (Pink Paws Heist) | 30,000 Paw-Paw Coins |
| City Wanderer | Fashion Shop, Mall tab | 1,500,000 Fons |
| Unconventional Attire | Spider's exchange, Hethereau Detention Facility | 8x Star Weekly |
| School Musings | Fashion Shop, Mall tab | 980 Riftcrystals or 3,000,000 Fons |
| Graffiti in Progress | Sea Angler fishing reward | Reach Fishing Level 10 |
Hunter Off Duty: Pink Paws Heist reward
Hunter Off Duty is tied to the Pink Paws Heist mini-game, which unlocks once you reach City Tycoon Level 10. After that, you can travel to the Pink Paws bank and run heists to earn Paw-Paw Coins, the local currency used inside the Pink Paws Den shop.
The outfit itself costs 30,000 Paw-Paw Coins. Heists can be repeated, so the only real gate is grinding enough successful runs to clear the price tag. The same shop also sells the Zero-G Gag glider, making it worth lingering for an extra cosmetic while you're farming.

City Wanderer: Straight Fons purchase
City Wanderer is the most straightforward unlock. Open the Fashion Shop in the Mall tab, find the outfit, and pay 1,500,000 Fons. There's no Riftcrystal alternative, but Fons accumulate from nearly every routine activity in Hethereau, including hobbies, side jobs, and City Tycoon income.

Unconventional Attire: Spider's prison trade
Unconventional Attire is Zero's prison fit and only becomes available after you get sent to the Hethereau Detention Facility. Once locked up, you trade with an inmate named Spider, who runs a black market in the back cell of the left wing's first floor and is only available during nighttime cell exploration.

The trade chain runs through two currencies. You collect Strong Painkillers, swap five of them with Spider for one Star Weekly magazine, then hand over eight Star Weekly to receive the outfit. That works out to 40 Strong Painkillers minimum.
Step 1: Get arrested. Performing illegal activities around the city eventually lands Zero in the detention facility, which is the only way to access Spider.
Step 2: Farm Strong Painkillers daily. Trade 5 Soap to Crocodile during yard time, 3 Playing Cards to Gourd behind the cafeteria, and 2 Weekly Fantasy magazines to Squid Ball at night. Each exchange returns one Strong Painkiller, and glowing pickups around the prison sometimes drop them too.
Step 3: Visit Spider at night and trade 5 Strong Painkillers per Star Weekly until you've stockpiled 8 of them.
Step 4: Hand over the 8 Star Weekly to Spider in exchange for Unconventional Attire. The outfit is added to Zero's wardrobe immediately and stays there even after you leave prison, whether by serving the sentence, paying the 30,000 Fons fine, or breaking out through the watchtower.
School Musings: Riftcrystals or Fons
School Musings is the only Zero outfit with a dual payment option. From the Fashion Shop, you can pay 980 Riftcrystals (the premium currency) or 3,000,000 Fons. Free-to-play players who can stomach the longer Fons grind get the same outfit for no real money. There's no time limit on the Fons option, so you don't need to rush the purchase.

Graffiti in Progress: Sea Angler level reward
Graffiti in Progress drops from the Sea Angler fishing hobby once you hit Fishing Level 10. Sea Angler is one of Hethereau's hobby tracks, and leveling it up only requires consistent fishing across the map's various spots. No purchase or currency is involved, making this the second fully free outfit in Zero's lineup alongside Hunter Off Duty.

How to equip an outfit
Step 1: Open the character menu by tapping the character icon in the top-right of the screen, or pressing C on keyboard and mouse.
Step 2: Select Zero from the character list. The status screen will display the current outfit along with stats and equipped gear.
Step 3: Tap the outfit button in the bottom-left corner of the status screen to open the wardrobe.
Step 4: Pick the outfit you want and choose Equip Outfit. The change applies immediately and persists across missions, banners, and patches until you swap again.

Free versus paid breakdown
Three of Zero's five unlockable outfits cost zero real money, even if one of them (School Musings) technically lists a Riftcrystal price. The split looks like this:
| Path | Outfits |
|---|---|
| Fully free through gameplay | Hunter Off Duty, Unconventional Attire, Graffiti in Progress |
| Fons-only (in-game currency) | City Wanderer |
| Fons or Riftcrystals | School Musings |
If you're playing free-to-play and want every Zero outfit, the realistic order of priority is finishing the prison and Sea Angler unlocks first (they only require time), then saving Fons for City Wanderer and School Musings, with Hunter Off Duty fitting in whenever you're already running Pink Paws Heists for Fons or coins.
New cosmetics tend to arrive alongside major updates and limited banners, so Zero's wardrobe should grow over time. For now, these six are the complete set available in Hethereau.
