Break and Steal an Egg is built around a secure home base, with more perilous regions branching out beyond it. Your run begins in the Safe Zone; from there, you travel farther to break eggs, hatch creatures, and race back with them before a guardian catches up. With every region, eggs become rarer and you have to move faster.
Quick answer: There are nine zones outside the Safe Zone. Each is gated by a recommended Speed, guarded by an NPC that chases you after a steal, and stocked with eggs that climb from Common up to Secret rarity.
All nine zones and their recommended Speed
Every zone holds two or three egg types tied to a specific rarity, and the guardian NPC gets quicker the farther out you go. The recommended Speed is the number you want before you try stealing a critter and running it back.

Having enough Speed to reach a zone is not the same as having enough to escape it. Carrying a large egg slows the return, so bank a buffer above the recommended number before you grab anything deep in the map.
What the Safe Zone holds
Everyone spawns inside the Safe Zone, and nothing can attack you here. It is where you keep your Pen, train Speed without risk, and spend cash. The animals parked in your base generate passive income over time, which funds the upgrades you need to reach farther zones.
Three stations sit inside this area alongside your Pen:
- The Pickaxe Shop, for stronger tools that break eggs faster.
- The Trails Shop, for Speed multipliers.
- The Animal Merging machine, for combining matching critters.
How the zones scale
The layout is a straight line of pressure. The Forest sits closest to the Safe Zone and only asks for 5 Speed, so it is the natural first stop. From there, every step out multiplies the requirement, the guardian’s aggression, and the rarity of the eggs on offer.
That jump from thousands to billions is deliberate. It forces you to keep training Speed and chasing better gear rather than farming one comfortable zone forever. By the time you reach the Swamp and beyond, you are pulling Legendary, Mythic, Divine, and higher critters that massively out-earn the early animals.
A guardian turns hostile only after you take an animal from its territory. Let the animal go to end the pursuit—a useful way out if a run goes bad far inside enemy territory. Rival players are another threat: beyond the Safe Zone, they can use Bats and other gear to knock your stolen critter loose.
The Galaxy Zone, the current endgame
The Galaxy Zone is the farthest area from the Safe Zone right now. It stocks the Secret-rarity Sun Egg, Starry Egg, and Blackhole Egg, all defended by a three-headed hydra. Look for giant-sized eggs here and break them with a high-power pickaxe to pull heavy animals, which earn the most.
Build up at least 25 billion Speed before attempting a steal in this zone. Between the pursuing hydra and any nearby players, a run with too little speed almost always ends with the egg knocked out of your hands.
More zones with new eggs and guardians could arrive in future updates, which would push the ceiling higher than Galaxy.
How to raise Speed for the next zone
Speed is the single stat that unlocks progress across the map. You gain it two ways: training on the Treadmill inside your base, and collecting Index rewards as you fill out your animal collection. Trails from the Trails Shop then multiply whatever Speed you have trained, so the two stack rather than replace each other.
You will know a zone is within reach when you can enter, grab an egg, and make it back to your Pen with the animal intact. If the guardian or a rival catches you before the base, your Speed is the checkpoint to improve next.
