Traits are passive abilities in Evomon that stay active while a monster is in battle. They trigger on their own and cost no energy, and each monster can hold exactly one at a time. Some boost damage or grant lifesteal, others apply extra status stacks or shift the weather, which makes the right roll a real factor in late-game fights.

Quick answer: Raise a monster to level 30, open its detail panel, then use a Trait Reroll Potion to assign a random trait. You can reroll as many times as you have potions until you land the one you want.

Requirements and rules for Traits

A monster starts with no trait attached. The slot stays locked until it reaches level 30, and only then can you roll one on. A monster’s available trait pool is tied to its elemental type, so the Legendary options differ from one species to the next. You can check which traits a specific monster can receive by clicking the question mark in the Team menu.

Every monster can access all Normal and Rare traits. Legendary traits are restricted, and each monster only sees a small selection of them. Traits can be rerolled at any time once the feature is unlocked, so a bad roll is never permanent as long as you have potions on hand.

Trait Reroll Potions come from the Tower Ascent mode, the Season Battle Pass, and Shop purchases. Because rerolling assigns a random trait each time, keeping a stack of potions lets you roll in bulk until the target trait appears.

How to reroll a Trait in Evomon

Open the Evomon Team button from the menu list on the top right of the screen.
Select the level 30 or higher monster you want to modify. Its details appear on the right side of the screen.
Click the trait shown below the attribute diagram. It reads “None” if the monster has no trait yet. This consumes a Trait Reroll Potion and assigns a random trait.

The assigned trait shows in that same slot once the roll finishes, so you can confirm the result instantly. Repeat the click to reroll again for as long as you hold potions. The only common reason a reroll fails is that the monster has not reached level 30 yet, which keeps the slot locked.

Because rerolls pull at random, the fastest way to secure a target Legendary is to build up a stack of Trait Reroll Potions first, then roll repeatedly on a single level 30 monster until it appears. The result updates in the trait slot each time, so you always know the moment you hit the one you were chasing.
