Frostburn is the first major content update for Far Far West, and it reshapes how a match plays out. It adds a close-quarters melee weapon class, a support-focused Frost spell line, new Jokers, map-revealing Lighthouses, a volcanic region called Hellfire, and an in-match resource named Uranium. The build ships as version 0.2.0.2 – B1012.
Quick answer: Install the Frostburn update to unlock Knuckles, Lasso, and Banjo melee weapons, Frost spells, the Copy Press and Refiner machines, Lighthouses, Uranium currency, and access to the Hellfire map through the three-part Arizona Jones and the Temples of Doom questline.
Melee weapon class: Knuckles, Lasso, and Banjo
Frostburn introduces a dedicated melee class built for close range. There are three weapons to pick up, and each starts at level 1. Only one of them accepts elemental magic, which sets it apart from the other two.
| Weapon | Role | Elemental imbue |
|---|---|---|
| Knuckles | Fast close-quarters strikes | No |
| Lasso | Reach and control | No |
| Banjo | Magic-imbued melee | Yes — Fire, Acid, or Ice |
The Banjo is the flexible option here. You can charge it with Fire, Acid, or Ice, so it doubles as a delivery method for elemental effects while you fight up close.

The new Ice spell class is support oriented rather than pure damage. It lets you freeze enemies to stop them in place, raise ice bridges to cross gaps, and generate protective shields to reduce incoming damage. That mix makes Frost useful for controlling fights and creating safe movement rather than trading blows directly.
Jokers, the Copy Press, and the Refiner
Jokers are perk cards that shape your build. Frostburn adds new ones aimed at melee playstyles and general gameplay, and it introduces two machines that change how you manage them during a match.
The Copy Press duplicates one of your active Jokers using gold, so you can double up on a perk you value. The Refiner works differently. You spend Uranium there to reroll Jokers instead of paying gold, which gives you a second way to reshape your card loadout mid-run.
| Machine | Action | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Copy Press | Duplicate an active Joker | Gold |
| Refiner | Reroll (swap) Jokers | Uranium |
Lighthouses reveal points of interest
Lighthouses are new structures placed around the map. When you reach one, you complete a short button-matching minigame. Finishing it reveals all major points of interest on the map, so you can plan routes and pick targets without exploring blind.
How to unlock the Hellfire map
Hellfire is a new volcanic region with active eruptions and lava hazards. You do not get to it straight away. Access is gated behind a three-part questline called Arizona Jones and the Temples of Doom, which begins in the Jungle.

Uranium currency and how to earn it
Uranium is a new in-match currency. You earn it from quests, side objectives, and defeating enemies, and it builds up as you play through a round. Its main use is at the Refiner, where it pays for Joker rerolls in place of gold.
Completing a quest confirms the reward on screen. A “Quest done!” notification appears, credits the Uranium you earned, and prompts you to extract. That message is the clearest signal that the objective counted and the currency landed.

Taken together, Frostburn expands both how you fight and how you shape a run. Melee weapons and Frost spells add new combat options, the Copy Press and Refiner give you two paths to tune your Jokers, and Lighthouses, Hellfire, and Uranium change how you move across the map and spend what you collect.
