Final Fantasy XIV Yo-kai Watch Event: How to Get All Minions and Weapons

Every FATE zone, medal cost, and milestone reward you need to clear the returning crossover before October 5, 2026.

Every FATE zone, medal cost, and milestone reward you need to clear the returning crossover before October 5, 2026.

The Yo-kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All! crossover is back in Final Fantasy XIV, and the full grind is the same familiar loop of FATE farming, medal trading, and minion swapping. You have 17 minions to befriend, 17 job-themed weapons to earn, three mounts to claim, and a set of new 2026 furnishings on top. The event is live now and closes on October 5, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. PDT (2:59 p.m. GMT), so there is time, but the weapon stage is slow.

Quick answer: Equip the Yo-kai Watch, then clear FATEs at Silver or Gold rating to collect 49 Yo-kai Medals and buy all 17 minions from Nohi in the Gold Saucer. After that, summon each minion and farm its matching Legendary Medals in that minion’s set zones until you have 165 total, then trade them for all 17 weapons.

Requirements and how to start the event

Your character must be at least level 15 and have finished one of the opening city-state quests: The Gridanian Envoy, The Lominsan Envoy, or The Ul’dahn Envoy. If you took part in the 2016, 2017, 2020, or 2024 runs, any medals you saved still count, and you can skip straight to Nohi without redoing the quest.

Travel to Ul’dah – Steps of Nald and speak to the Poor-heeled Youth at (X:9.2, Y:9.1) to accept the quest “A Complete Game Changer.”
Head to the Gold Saucer and talk to the Wandering Executive at (X:5.2, Y:6.9).
Go to Bentbranch Meadows in the Central Shroud and speak with Giah Molkoh (X:21.4, Y:22.2), Aethelthryth (X:20.7, Y:22.6), and Keitha (X:20.3, Y:22.0).
Move to (X:15.1, Y:25.1) and interact with the Ancient Stone Vessel, then return to the Wandering Executive at the Gold Saucer to finish the quest.

Completing it hands you the Yo-kai Watch, the Yo-kai Medallium, a single Yo-kai Medal, and the “End of Watch” achievement. The Medallium tracks every minion, weapon, and the exact zones tied to each Legendary Medal. If you ever discard the Yo-kai Watch by mistake, any Calamity Salvager in a city-state can sell you a replacement.

Farm Yo-kai Medals and buy all 17 minions

With the Yo-kai Watch equipped, complete any eligible FATE at a Silver or Gold rating to receive a Yo-kai Medal. These drop every time, so contribute enough damage, healing, or objective work to lock in at least Silver. Eligible FATEs sit across La Noscea, Thanalan, The Black Shroud, and the Heavensward and Stormblood regions (Coerthas, Dravania, Abalathia’s Spine, Gyr Abania, and Othard).

Take your medals to Nohi in the Gold Saucer at (X:5.2, Y:6.9). The first minion costs 1 medal and every minion after that costs 3, so all 17 come to 49 medals in total. One extra rule applies only while the event is running: you cannot summon any Yo-kai minion until you own 13 of them, which is why the mount and weapon stages start after that threshold.

The full roster of 17 minions is:

  • Jibanyan, Komasan, USApyon, Whisper, Shogunyan, Hovernyan, Komajiro, Noko, Venoct
  • Kyubi, Robonyan F-type, Blizzaria, Manjimutt, Lord Enma, Lord Ananta, Zazel, Damona

Each new minion pops its own achievement, and the Medallium updates as you buy them. That is how you confirm progress toward the 13-minion mark and the full 17.

Farm Legendary Medals for all 17 weapons

Weapons use a different currency called Legendary Yo-kai Medals. To earn one, summon the minion tied to the weapon you want, then clear that minion’s specific FATEs at Silver or Gold. Legendary Medals are not guaranteed, so expect around one drop every few FATEs. Without the correct minion out, the medal will never appear.

The first weapon costs 5 Legendary Medals and each weapon after costs 10, which adds up to 165 medals for the complete set. Trade them to Nohi at the Gold Saucer. The table below lists every weapon, its job, the minion you must summon, and the zones where its Legendary Medal drops.

The sword and shield pair for Paladin count as a single weapon, so 17 purchases cover every job that existed through Shadowbringers. Each new weapon triggers its own achievement, which is how the game tracks your route to the mount rewards.

Tip: Stick with one minion until you have enough Legendary Medals for its weapon before switching. Bouncing between minions wastes the drops you earn, since each medal only counts for its own weapon.

Mounts, Framer’s Kit, and 2026 furnishings

The three mounts are achievement rewards, not direct purchases, so they arrive as delivered keys once you cross each threshold. The furnishings and the Framer’s Kit unlock from Nohi after you own all 17 minions.

The three Wibbly-wobbly furnishings are the fresh additions for this run and can be placed as housing decorations. The Framer’s Kit applies Yo-kai themed elements to your Adventurer Plate and portrait. You do not carry weapons or minions around to prove completion; the achievements do the tracking for you.

Why medals fail to drop

If a FATE ends and no medal appears, one of these is almost always the cause:

  • The Yo-kai Watch was not equipped, which is required for standard Yo-kai Medals.
  • You finished the FATE below Silver rating, so you did not contribute enough to earn a reward tier.
  • For a Legendary Medal, the wrong minion (or no minion) was summoned, or you were in a zone not tied to that minion.
  • Auto-umbrella in Fashion Accessories was active during rain, which can stop your minion from spawning.

Legendary Medals also simply miss on many runs because their drop is not guaranteed, so a dry streak is normal rather than a bug. Joining a FATE train with other players clears objectives faster and speeds up both medal types. Once every achievement has fired and Nohi has sold you the Framer’s Kit and furnishings, you are done. Just make sure to wrap up before the event closes on October 5, since the quest and rewards leave with it.
