Fisch’s Boat Racing patch brings a competitive angle to boating. Across several islands, Race Leader NPCs offer timed routes whose results appear on a common leaderboard. The update also brings two rod masteries, multiple stat adjustments, bug fixes, stricter storage limits, and a promo code with a short redemption window.
Quick answer: Players can race on island courses and compare leaderboard times, while the update also brings two rod masteries, widespread balance changes, bug fixes, and the VroomVroom code, which remains available through 16:00 UTC on September 27, 2026.
Boat racing courses and Race Leaders
Race Leaders are now stationed on multiple Fisch islands. Talk to one to start a timed course; completing the route earns free rewards. The game records your finish time and compares it with the times of all other players on that course.

Race Leaders offer several options: race against other players, practice alone, change your racing boat, or view the leaderboard. A solo practice run is free at 0 C$; entering a timed multiplayer race costs 100 C$. Finish the Moosewood course to collect a reward from its Race Leader. Courses are found on familiar islands, including Roslit Bay.

Official races give every boat identical stats. The vehicle upgrades you normally rely on are switched off during a race, so driving skill decides the outcome rather than your build.

Add to Google Preferences →The VroomVroom code and its rewards
The VroomVroom code comes with the patch. Redemption requires level 25, and the code ends at 16:00 UTC on September 27, 2026. Fisch codes can become invalid soon after an update goes live, so redeem this one promptly. Open Settings, choose Codes, and enter it there; uppercase and lowercase letters work alike.
Redeeming it drops the items straight into your inventory and shows a “Successfully redeemed!” confirmation. VroomVroom grants 1,000 C$, the Pancaked Flimsy Rod skin, 10x Instant Catcher, 5x Luminous Larva, and one random item. The random item can be a Bloop Whistle, Dripstone Collapse Totem, Starfall Totem, Rainbow Totem, Megalodon Hunt Totem, Kraken Hunt Totem, Scylla Hunt Totem, or Colossal Dragon Hunt Totem.

Masteries, new rods, and stat changes
Two new rod masteries
Two rods now have their own mastery tracks. Stellarwave Melody Mastery is framed around synthesizing the stars, while Rod of the Singularity Mastery centers on watching them collapse. Both run through the usual rod-specific quests, which hand out passive boosts and other rewards as you complete them, and progress shows in the in-game progression menu.

Rods you can now obtain
Three rods that were previously locked are now obtainable, and boat propellers were tuned to suit the new racing mode.
- Blackhole Rod
- Cinder Block Rod, with its Progress Speed adjustment raised from +15% to +20%
- Rod of the Singularity
- Maximum durability increased on all Trident-tier Boat Propellers
Cinderstring and Infernal Mastery buffs
Cinderstring’s base stats went up across the board.
| Stat | Before | After |
|---|---|---|
| Lure Speed | 95% | 100% |
| Control | 0 | 0.05 |
| Resilience | 10% | 20% |
| Progress Speed | 15% | 30% |
| Inferno / Universal | 7% | 10% |
Infernal Mastery also receives buffs. The duration of Infernal Mastery I doubles from 30 to 60 seconds; fish caught while Emberflame is active award +20% EXP and C$. With Infernal Mastery II, Lure Speed reaches 105%, Progress Speed reaches +30%, and Universal Luck reaches 20%. For the Amethyst Rod at Master/Dev level, the appended mutation multiplier goes up from 9.5x to 12x, while Control improves from 0.15 to 0.2. Its resilience multiplier cap, however, falls from 2.25x to 1.85x.
Gauntlet stat increases
Five gauntlets received higher control, luck, resilience, and passive values.
| Gauntlet | Changes |
|---|---|
| Volcanic Gauntlets | Lure Speed 15%→20%, Resilience 10%→12%, Dev’s Folly passive 5%→10% |
| Challenger’s Gauntlets | Control 0.05→0.07, Shiny 10%→15%, Sparkling 10%→15%, Whirlpool 2x→3x |
| Elysian Gauntlet | Control 0.03→0.05, Lure Speed 12%→15%, Luck 10%→12% |
| Shellweaver’s Gauntlets | Resilience 15%→20% |
| Abyssal Gauntlet | Control 0.07→0.08, Resilience 12%→15% |
Because so many rod, elemental, and gauntlet values shifted at once, it is worth checking your current setups before running a course or heading back out to fish.
Bug fixes, storage caps, and crate handling
- A fix to Mariana’s Veil progression brings Challenger’s Deep Podium completion states back and restores any Biomarkers Vial that was missing.
- The Ice Warpers Rod is now displayed correctly.
- Spawn Boats Anywhere now produces boats more consistently; with this feature active, boats are also prevented from spawning in the Obsidian Trench.
- The crew rejoin problem is eased, so players should reconnect normally after a random kick.
- Storage and inventory now each hold a limit of 32,000 item stacks to prevent data loss.
- Use the new “Open All Crates” toggle to open, at once, every crate of a selected type that is not favorited.
What’s next for Fisch
Boat racing is a smaller update before the bigger releases. The 2nd Anniversary update is set to be a longer, larger patch, but its timing is only given as “next week,” with no confirmed date. FischFright 3 is also being developed.
Past updates have taken the game in varied directions. One brought the Blue Galapagos Octopus, Walrus, and Reef Triggerfish to Desolate Deep, Snowcap Island, and Roslit Bay, respectively, and added the Astraeus Serenade rod as a direct selection in the Wish of the Sky menu. A different update added the Sei Whale migration hunt. This whale roams quickly, and its migration occurs only when Windy Weather coincides with Nighttime.

For now, the practical move is to review your gear against the new stats and claim the VroomVroom code before it expires.
