Fisch Castbound Rod Mastery: All Quests, Rewards, and the Copperbound Buff

Finish three mastery quests to unlock the Copperbound skin and a permanent stat enhancement for the Castbound Rod.

Finish three mastery quests to unlock the Copperbound skin and a permanent stat enhancement for the Castbound Rod.

The Castbound Rod Mastery is a set of three quests tied to the rod you earn from The Guide at the Underground Music Venue. Completing them grants the Copperbound skin plus a permanent enhancement that raises durability, slash rate, and Fury chance. You need to own the Castbound Rod and be at Level 1000 before any of this unlocks.

Quick answer: Catch 50 Fury fish (Anger), perfectly catch 3 Rotbloom with the Castbound (Like a Boss), then own Igneous Rupturer, Tidemourner, Verdant Oath, Wind Elemental, and Zeus’s Thundermaul (The Journey’s End?). Finishing all three awards the Copperbound skin and the rod’s enhancement.

Castbound Mastery requirements and rewards

The mastery menu opens once you have the Castbound Rod and reach the starting level requirement of 1000. Each quest pays out its own reward, and clearing all three delivers the grand prize. Here is the full breakdown.

The enhancement from the final quest adds +200 Durability, 3 More Chances, +50% Slash Rate, and +5 Starting Progress. It also makes Perfect Casts give +25% Fury Base Chance, which feeds directly back into the rod’s mutation passive.

Anger: Catch 50 Fury fish

Equip the Castbound Rod and keep fishing until 50 of your catches carry the Fury mutation. The rod has roughly a 25% chance to apply Fury on a catch through its own passive, so expect this to take a while rather than a few casts.

Because Fury comes from the Castbound’s bonus-fish passive, every catch already rolls for it. Pairing the rod with enchantments that pad out fish value, such as a Greed and Sea Prince setup, keeps the grind productive while you wait for the count to climb. Clearing this quest awards the Prisma Lantern.

Like a Boss: Perfect Catch 3 Rotbloom

This quest only counts Rotbloom that you land with a Perfect Catch using the Castbound. Rotbloom appears inside the Toxic Grove during a Rotbloom Hunt, so check the Global Event channel to confirm a hunt is active before you head over.

Use the following conditions to line up the catch.

ConditionSetting
BaitLuminous Larva or Thorn Cluster
SeasonAutumn
WeatherNone
TimeNone

Progress only registers on a Perfect Catch, so a normal catch will not move the counter. The Castbound’s slash passive helps here by speeding up the reel once you hold the perfect zone. Landing three Rotbloom this way rewards the Gemidium Bobber.

The Journey’s End?: Own five specific rods

The final quest is a collection check. You simply need to own all five rods listed below at the same time, with no catching involved.

  • Igneous Rupturer
  • Tidemourner
  • Verdant Oath
  • Wind Elemental
  • Zeus’s Thundermaul

High-level grinders may already have these from earlier questlines. If you do not, each rod carries its own obtainment requirements, so plan for several days to gather them all. Completing this step grants the Castbound enhancement and the Copperbound skin.

How to confirm the mastery is complete

Open your inventory and select the Castbound Rod to view the mastery menu and each quest’s progress. When all three quests read as finished, the Copperbound skin lands in your inventory and the enhancement applies to the rod automatically.

Note: The Anger quest is the slowest of the three because Fury depends on the rod’s mutation roll, while the rod-collection quest is gated by how long the individual rods take to earn. The Rotbloom quest hinges on an active Rotbloom Hunt in the Toxic Grove, so time that step around a live event.
