The Scrap-Bot is a quest-locked companion in Fisch, added in Version 1.96.0 and tied entirely to the Outer Deep area. There is no fishing pull or cash purchase involved. You earn it by working through a three-part quest chain given by a single NPC.
Quick answer: Talk to Tinkerer Orik in the Outer Deep and complete all three of his quests — Grand Frame Assembly, Biological Wiring, and Core Activation and Testing. Turning in the final quest unlocks the Scrap-Bot companion.

Where to find Tinkerer Orik in the Outer Deep
Every part of the Scrap-Bot chain runs through Tinkerer Orik. He stands near the chain beacon tower in the Outer Deep, and you turn each quest in at the lower scaffolding in the same area. Reach him first, then start gathering the materials below.
Note: Companions are stored in the Companion Satchel, which opens with the C key once you hit Level 30. If you are below that level, the Scrap-Bot will still unlock, but you need Level 30 to open the satchel and equip it.

Add to Google Preferences →Quest 1: The Deep — Grand Frame Assembly
The first quest is a materials run. Orik asks for salvage and chitin components that you collect around the Outer Deep before handing them back at the scaffolding.
| Material | Amount |
|---|---|
| Salvage Scrap | 50 |
| Chitin Plate | 40 |
| Refined Scrap | 5 |
| Hardened Chitin | 3 |
| Crushed Diving Helmet | 1 |

Quest 2: The Deep — Biological Wiring
The second quest switches to fishing. You need to catch three specific fish, one of each, and bring them to Orik.
| Fish | Amount |
|---|---|
| Luminous Pacific Footballfish | 1 |
| Scalded Luminous Hake | 1 |
| Monstrous Dark Snailfish | 1 |
Quest 3: The Deep — Core Activation and Testing
The final quest is short. Retrieve the Ancient Energy Core from the edge of the Outer Deep and bring it back to Tinkerer Orik. Turning it in completes the chain and grants the Scrap-Bot.

How to confirm the Scrap-Bot unlocked
Once the third quest is turned in, the Scrap-Bot is added to your account. Press C to open the Companion Satchel and check that it appears in your list. From there, you can equip it and start leveling it.
If it does not appear, the usual cause is an incomplete chain. All three quests must be finished and handed back to Orik at the lower scaffolding — turning in only the materials or fish will not release the companion on its own.

Leveling the Scrap-Bot after you unlock it
Companions start at level 1 and cap at level 10, with higher levels scaling their passive ability. You earn Companion XP through normal play, and a Companion Candy grants a large one-time boost.
| Action | Companion XP |
|---|---|
| Catching a fish | +10 |
| Interacting with the companion | +5 (up to 10 between catches) |
| Walking the companion for 10 seconds | +1 (up to 20 between catches) |
| Using a Companion Candy | +1,500 |
Cleaned Scrap-Bot skin code
There is also a cosmetic version of the companion, the Cleaned Scrap-Bot skin, which is code-exclusive. Redeem the code TheDeepIsVeryDeep to add it, then equip it from the Companion Satchel menu once you own the Scrap-Bot itself. Codes can expire, so redeem it sooner rather than later if you want the skin.
