Fisch added a new way to hunt specific species on July 18, 2026, with the Roaming Fish update. The headline change lets you see fish moving through the water and cast near them for a much better catch rate, and it arrives alongside a new Waterpark zone at Fischfest, expanded crew goals, and a fresh code.
Quick answer: Roaming Fish now spawn across all waters. Fish next to a visible roaming fish for a heavily boosted chance of catching that exact species, or use the reworked spears to target it directly. Redeem the code RoamingFishAndWaterPark in-game for rewards.

Roaming Fish and reworked spears
Roaming Fish are visible species that swim through the world instead of staying hidden under the surface. When you spot one, fishing close to its position gives a massively boosted chance of hooking that specific fish, which turns targeted hunting into something you can actually see and aim at rather than leave to a blind cast.
Spears were reworked to fit this system and are now far more viable for grabbing a roaming fish directly. Harpoon Guns are noted as coming the following week, so the spear rework is the immediate melee-style option for this update.
Fischfest Waterpark and new bestiary entries
A new Waterpark area opened at Fischfest, complete with slides, pools, and a lazy river. Two questlines run through it. Waterpark Wade needs help clearing junk that is clogging the pipes, so you fish out the debris to get water flowing again and collect rewards for the work. Milo, Ryder, and Drew each want their missing floaties reeled back out of the pools.
The Waterpark also brings eight new Fischfest bestiary additions, all found in the new area. The floaties count among the rarer catches, and every entry is limited to the event window, so you need to log all eight before Fischfest ends.
Crews update: monthly goals and daily challenges
Crews received a large set of cooperative progression features. Monthly Rating Goals give your crew shared thresholds to push toward for crew-wide rewards, while Daily Crew Challenges let your team clear up to three high-reward tasks each day. A new Crew Goals tracker menu is available straight from the Crew Herald so you can monitor progress in one place.
Settings revamp and Double XP Weekend
The Settings menu was rebuilt with cleaner layouts, larger text, and clearer wording. Redundant options were removed and nested tabs were combined, which makes navigation faster.
A Double XP Weekend runs alongside the launch, a good window to raise levels quickly. It also serves as a reminder to finish any venue quests before they leave rotation.

Redeem the RoamingFishAndWaterPark code
The update ships with one redeemable code, RoamingFishAndWaterPark. Codes usually stay active for a limited time, so enter it soon to be sure it still works.
Fischfest content, including the Waterpark, its bestiary entries, and the Double XP Weekend, is time-limited, so prioritize the new catches and venue quests before the event closes out. The teaser also points to Harpoon Guns arriving the following week, extending the roaming-fish system beyond spears.
