Fisch just went deep. On August 8, 2026, the Roblox fishing game dropped Version 1.96.0, better known as The Deep, and it is one of the biggest single expansions the game has shipped. You get a whole new underwater region built around a lost ancient city, a fresh way to move across the seafloor, new crafted rods and harpoon gear, and three separate Bestiaries to fill out.
Quick answer: The Deep adds an open underwater expansion with a breathable ancient city, 60-plus new real-life-based fish across three Bestiaries, new rods and harpoon guns, low-gravity seafloor walking via the Deep Survey Device, and a multi-stage Monstrous Cusk hunt. Redeem the code TheDeepIsVeryDeep in-game for a launch reward.

Redeem the code TheDeepIsVeryDeep
The update ships with an active code, TheDeepIsVeryDeep. Enter it exactly as written in the game’s code menu to claim the launch reward. Codes in Fisch are usually time-limited, so redeem it early rather than sitting on it.
Deep City and the abyssal trenches
The centerpiece is a massive open underwater area centered on a lost, ancient city ringed by unlit abyssal trenches. The city districts are breathable, so you can explore them at a normal pace, and they are packed with residents, specialists, and merchants. Those NPCs hand out new quests, hand back rewards, and run material exchanges, so the city doubles as the region’s social and economy hub.
Low-gravity seafloor movement
The Deep changes how you move. Equipping the restored Deep Survey Device swaps normal swimming for low-gravity walking along the ocean floor. You can still cast while walking, and your bobber floats slowly upward at adjusted lure speeds instead of dropping.
Note: Dangerous Roaming Fish patrol the trenches and deal contact damage if you are caught unprepared, so treat the open trenches as hostile until you have lit them up.
New rods, harpoon guns, and spears
There is a full spread of new craftable gear, split between traditional rods and ranged harpoon weapons. A new twist lets you equip bait directly onto ranged gear, so harpoon guns and spears fit into your fishing loadout rather than sitting apart from it.
| Type | New gear |
|---|---|
| Fishing Rods | Luminous Rod, Titanium Rod, Scalding Hook, Cusk Purger |
| Harpoon Guns & Spears | Scrap-Cannon, Titanic Scalder, Sightless Oracle, Prism Spear |
Three new Bestiaries and 60-plus fish
The Deep holds three distinct Bestiaries to complete. Between them there are more than 60 new fish species swimming below, and every one is modeled on a real-life aquatic animal. Finishing all three means diving across the whole region, including its darkest corners.
Beacons, the Gloomy Crevice, and the Monstrous Cusk
The region’s progression runs through three linked systems. You start by fixing the power grid, push into a pitch-black fissure, and end with a boss hunt.
Materials, Stat Chips, and the Scrap-Bot
The Deep adds a crafting and upgrade loop on top of the fishing. You harvest raw materials straight from your catches, including rare variants, and you can sell surplus crafting materials to the Deep Merchant for extra C$.
Stat Chips slot into your Survey Device to tune your ranged gear. They boost Harpoon Gun Accuracy, Range, Resilience, and Power, so you can shape a loadout around whichever stat your hunts demand.
Completing Tinkerer Orik’s request unlocks the Scrap-Bot, a companion that passively retrieves materials and catches fish for you. The Citizen Bounty Board layers on time-limited tasks that pay out cash, XP, and extra materials, and Deep City residents also hand out exclusive titles, lanterns, bobbers, rod skins, and new boats.
The Deep slots in as Version 1.96.0, following the Harpoon Guns update from earlier in August, and it turns those harpoon weapons into the backbone of an entire underwater region. If you are jumping back in, restore the beacons first, upgrade to the MK II Survey Device to reach the Gloomy Crevice, and keep the Scrap-Bot working while you fill out all three Bestiaries.
