The Atlas in Path of Exile 2 no longer asks you to grind out the entire Precursor Fortress node by node. In the Forbidden Rites event league, the fortress hands over its full pool of Atlas passive points in one lump once you beat a second, harder version of the Arbiter of Divinity. That single change turns what used to be a long clearing job into a short quest chain with one boss fight as the gate.
Quick answer: Finish the Precursor Fortress quest line and kill the Arbiter of Divinity once, then collect a second Origin Cradle and Origin Spark, combine them into an Origin Core, and defeat the Arbiter of Divinity again at the Origin Tower. All 336 Atlas skill points are granted the moment that second kill lands.
What you need before the second Arbiter of Divinity fight
Everything hinges on three items. Two of them are drops from specific fortress areas, and the third is what you craft from the other two to open the second Origin Tower encounter.
| Item | Where it comes from |
|---|---|
| Origin Cradle | The Matriarch Halls, either inside the fortress or as a separate area out on the world map. Also buyable on the Currency Exchange. |
| Origin Spark | The Patriarch Halls, inside the fortress or on the world map. Also buyable on the Currency Exchange. |
| Origin Core | Crafted by combining an Origin Cradle with an Origin Spark. Can be bought outright instead. |
Note: the Arbiter of Divinity in 0.5.5 has lower Fire Resistance and higher Lightning Resistance than before. If your damage is mostly lightning, expect the second fight to take noticeably longer.

Skip the map hunt by buying Origin items on the Currency Exchange
Step 6 is the slow part, and you do not have to do it. Origin Cradles, Origin Sparks, and finished Origin Cores all trade on the Currency Exchange. Buying a Core directly skips both the world map search and the crafting step, dropping you straight to the second Origin Tower summon.

Prices move with a fresh league economy, so check both routes. If Cores are expensive early, buying a single missing half is often cheaper than buying the finished item.
How to confirm the Atlas points were granted
The game tells you outright. After the second kill you get a PRECURSOR FORTRESS COMPLETE notification followed by All ATLAS SKILL POINTS GRANTED. Open the Atlas Skills screen and the counter at the top should read 336/336 if you have not spent anything yet.

If no points appear, the usual cause is that you only completed the quest line kill. That first Arbiter of Divinity fight is not the one that pays out. You need a fresh Origin Core and a second, harder run at the same boss before the fortress unlocks in full.
Where to spend the points first
With the whole tree available at once, the fastest return comes from in-map league mechanics rather than the ones that pull you out of a map. Abyss, Breach, and Ritual all trigger inside the map you are already running, so investing there speeds up currency and gear income without adding detours. Master missions can wait.
Abyss is the standout early pick. Its nodes push the mechanic toward Omens such as Omen of Light and Omen of Abyssal Echoes, plus Ancient items like the Ancient Jawbone. Abyss Tablets also got stronger in 0.5.5, now granting 2-3 rare monsters instead of 1-2.
Slot Abyss Tablets into a Precursor Tower on the Atlas to guarantee the encounter across the maps that tower influences, then run those maps back to back. Abyssal Ravines can also appear as you travel the Atlas, and each closed ravine adds bonuses to the next map in the chain, with a guaranteed pit boss at the end.

One practical consequence of the rework is that the Atlas tree stops being a long-term project. Get the second Arbiter of Divinity kill done, dump everything into one profitable mechanic, and the rest of the league is about running maps rather than unlocking the ability to plan them.
