Chapter 7 Season 4 “Override” introduced Bounty Hunter as its newest special Sprite form. Its magenta-and-pink holographic glow and swirling design make it easy to spot across the map, even at night. Each one retains its base Sprite ability and gains a combat bonus: opponents you eliminate may cause another Sprite to spawn.
Quick answer: Eliminate players for a 7% chance to drop a Bounty Hunter Sprite, then extract it before the match ends to keep it. Nineteen of the 20 variants are live now.
What the Bounty Hunter variant does
A Bounty Hunter Sprite retains its usual passive ability and gains an additional variant effect. Its in-game description says: “Chance to find sprites when eliminating opponents. Only gains sprite XP from eliminations, unless sprite has special XP rules.” With a 7% spawn chance, it’s best viewed as another way to expand your collection, not a dependable source.
This form’s progression works differently: eliminations are the only source of Sprite XP for a Bounty Hunter Sprite, and each kill grants 2.5x the XP a standard Sprite gets. Since every level takes more eliminations than the previous one, it suits aggressive, PvP-focused play.
Two Sprites bypass eliminations altogether. Combat will never yield Bounty Hunter Crown, while Bounty Hunter Klombo follows a separate consumable-based rule. More details on both are below.
How to get Bounty Hunter Sprites
In Battle Royale or Zero Build, a player elimination has a 7% chance to drop a Bounty Hunter Sprite. They’re also obtainable through the methods available to other variants, with the odds determined by Cheat Code rarity.
- Of the Cheat Code tiers, Legendary offers the strongest odds of a Bounty Hunter drop.
- Epic Cheat Codes are the next best.
- They may come from Rare Cheat Codes or standard chests, though neither offers good odds.
- Trading Sprites with friends is another way to fill a gap.
For a concentrated search, head to Temple Vaults, where Rare Chests and Legendary Cheat Codes are both available. Bounty Hunter Blinky has another possible source: defeating a Pac-Man Ghost near the Pac-Man, Blinky, and Pinky Islands at night may drop it. Because a Bounty Hunter Sprite sits on a player as a back bling, you can spot one before a match even starts and go get it directly.

Season 4 has 20 Bounty Hunter Sprites. Every Sprite released so far has a Bounty Hunter form apart from Mega Man, which has only one form. The table below shows each variant’s rarity and the best area to search while opening Rare Chests and entering Cheat Codes.

Sonic and Tails are among the easiest to find, while Klombo is the toughest. No official drop rate has been published for any individual Season 4 Sprite, so the 7% elimination chance is the number to plan around.
Crown and Klombo follow different rules
Bounty Hunter Crown is unavailable as a combat drop. To receive it, win a match with the Loot Hacker Crown Sprite equipped; the game grants it automatically. Its levels come exclusively from Victory Royales, so eliminations won’t advance it.
Bounty Hunter Klombo uses a distinct XP system. As with the standard Klombo Sprite, you must feed it HP items to master it; eliminations don’t level it up.
Release timing and the missing Birthday variant
The Bounty Hunter forms of 17 Sprites went live at the daily Sprite reset (6 AM PT / 9 AM ET) on Thursday, September 24, 2026, alongside Morgana, which launched that same morning with all five of its forms. Bounty Hunter Crown had a head start, arriving with the v42.20 update on September 17.
The Birthday Sprite and its Bounty Hunter variant are scheduled to arrive on Saturday, September 26. Until their release, 19 of the 20 Bounty Hunter Sprites are collectible. Mastering 28 Sprites overall also grants the Pixel Polli skin for free.
How to confirm a drop counted
To add a dropped Sprite to your collection, extract it before the match ends. After extraction, it shows up on your Sprite collection screen, confirming that the pickup registered. If you keep carrying it until the match finishes without extracting, you won’t keep it.
Since launch, Bounty Hunter Sprites have had inconsistent behavior. Reports include expected drops failing to appear, Cheat Code dispensers turning up empty, and Sprites disappearing from one match to the next. When an expected drop is missing, a bug may be responsible instead of bad luck; keep searching and review your collection screen after each match.
