Exact POIs, roles, and the 350 gold bar cost for Elite Daigo, Heatwave PJ, Dylan, and John Wick.

Four recruitable specialists roam the Shattered Coast in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3, and each one can fight at your side for the rest of a match once you pay the fee. They sit in fixed points of interest this season, so once you know the building or courtyard to check, tracking them down stops being a coin flip. Knowing their spots also clears the way for the weekly mission that wants you to hire a specialist across several matches.

Quick answer: Hire any of the four specialists for 350 gold bars at their POI: Elite Daigo at Sunken Shores, Heatwave PJ at Latte Landing, Dylan at Heatwave Harbor, and John Wick at Calamari Canyon. Walk up, interact, and pick Recruit.

All four specialist locations in Chapter 7 Season 3

The four specialists are Elite Daigo, Heatwave PJ, Dylan, and John Wick. Each one holds a distinct role and costs the same 350 gold bars to recruit. NPCs can shift around the island as the season runs, but these are their current homes.

Exact spawn spots inside each POI

Landing in the right POI is only half the job. Each specialist sticks to a specific corner, so head straight for the spot below instead of circling the whole area.

  • Elite Daigo (Medic) — Sunken Shores. Check the upper northeast corner of the POI. He wanders the open courtyard next to the bright blue house.
  • Heatwave PJ (Scout) — Latte Landing. Enter the grey stone building near the southeast corner. She patrols inside it.
  • Dylan (Supply) — Heatwave Harbor. Head to the far eastern cluster of buildings on the right side of the water.
  • John Wick (Heavy) — Calamari Canyon. Look near the northern edge of the POI, beside a small blue building on the cliffside.

Tip: At Calamari Canyon, John Wick spawns near two boss NPCs guarding mythic shotguns. Recruit him first so you have extra firepower before taking those fights.

How to hire a specialist

Gold bars are the only currency that matters here, and you start each match with none. They do not carry over between rounds, so plan to farm fresh every time you want a hire.

Loot until you reach 350 gold bars. Open chests, finish nearby bounties, complete small POI tasks, and harvest resources to build the total fast.
Travel to the specialist’s POI. If you are solo, pick the recruit closest to your drop. In a squad, call it early so a teammate can cover the approach.
Walk up to the specialist, interact, and select Recruit. Paying the 350 gold bars turns the NPC into your ally for the rest of that match.

You will know the hire worked when the specialist joins you as an ally and the mission ticks off one of its required hires. The recruit stays with you until you are eliminated or the match ends.

Completing the hire a specialist in different matches mission

The mission asks you to recruit a specialist across four separate matches. You can hire the same character every time or rotate through all four to test their abilities. Each successful recruitment counts as one match toward the total, so the only real requirement is repeating the hire in four different rounds.

Because gold bars reset each match, the slow part is always the farm, not finding the NPC. Drop near whichever specialist is closest, gather your 350 bars early, and recruit before the storm forces you to move.

Which specialist to pick

Pick based on what your run is missing. Elite Daigo’s Medic role keeps you topped up in the mid-to-late game, which makes him strong if you pushed in without full heals. Heatwave PJ’s scouting pairs well with aggressive rotations where spotting loot and enemies early matters. Dylan’s Supply role helps when you want resupply resilience, and John Wick brings heavy firepower for close-range fights.

If you are just clearing the mission, convenience wins. Grab the specialist nearest your landing spot, pay the fee, and move on. The four roles all complete the challenge equally, so save the role choice for matches where the ability actually changes how you fight.
