Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: How and When to Farm Every Gizmo Type

Gizmos are the quiet engine of Chapter 7 Season 4. They sit outside your normal inventory, they never cost you a weapon slot, and almost every one of them speeds up the Sprite hunt that the whole Override season is built around. The catch is that you can’t just find them on the ground — each type arrives on its own schedule, and missing a day means waiting a full week for that Gizmo to come back around.

Quick answer: Finish your three Override daily quests to claim that day’s Gizmo. The reward rotates on a fixed weekly schedule and resets at 9AM ET (6AM PT), and you can top up outside of quests by buying a Cheat Code Locator for 1,500 Sprite Dust or a Portable Extractor for 2,500 Sprite Dust at an Extraction Site service station.

Where Gizmos live in a match, and how to use them

Gizmos occupy your pickaxe slot rather than an inventory slot. Hold down the pickaxe button — F on PC — and the Gizmo Wheel opens, showing every Gizmo you’re carrying and how many copies of each you have. Select one and it fires off immediately.

Two limits matter before you start hoarding. Gizmos expire when the season ends, and the wheel itself displays how many days you have left to burn through them. They’re also switched off in Competitive Battle Royale — they only function in core playlists and other non-competitive modes.

Every Override Gizmo and what it does

Six Gizmos are in rotation. Four of them exist to make Sprite extraction faster or safer, while the other two are pure utility.

The Extraction Accelerator is the one most players skip and shouldn’t. A normal extraction announces itself to anyone nearby; the accelerated version arrives quietly and almost instantly, which matters enormously in solos.

The Llama Supply Drop lands a crate directly on top of you, so it’s worth saving for a moment when you’re already holding a defensible position rather than mid-rotation in the open.

Daily quest Gizmo rotation (Sunday to Saturday)

Daily quests are the only free, repeatable source. Clear the day’s three Override dailies and the matching Gizmo drops into your loadout. Which one you get depends entirely on the day of the week.

Monday is the day to prioritize if you only log in once a week — three Portable Extractors in a single session is the largest single haul on the board, and copies stack.

Daily reset times by region

The rotation flips at the same moment worldwide. If you’re in Europe or Asia-Pacific, note that the “Monday” reward window doesn’t start on your Monday morning.

Each Gizmo’s window runs from 9AM ET on its day to 8:59AM ET the following day. Claim late in that window and you can effectively bank two different Gizmos across a short stretch of play.

Buying Gizmos with Sprite Dust at Extraction Sites

Service station consoles at Extraction Sites sell two Gizmos outright. There’s a daily purchase cap, so you can’t convert a huge Sprite Dust reserve into a stack of Extractors in one match, but it’s a reliable way to backfill the days you missed.

Walk up to the console, open the purchase panel, and select the Gizmo you want. The prompt names the item and its rarity before you confirm the buy.

Tip: buying anything from a service station also ticks off one of the recurring Override dailies, so a purchase run can pay for itself in quest progress.

Lobby Hack codes that grant Gizmos

The Admin Panel in the Battle Royale lobby accepts Lobby Hack codes, and several of them hand over Gizmos instantly — no quests, no Sprite Dust. Enter the code before you drop and the items appear in your loadout.

Codes are one-time redemptions per account. The Spicy Taco in particular is worth grabbing this way, since it’s otherwise locked to a single day of the weekly rotation.

Story quests and Power Hours

The Wrixel Ziggy Get Crafty story quests pay out Cheat Code Locators, Portable Extractors, and Llama Supply Drops as you progress. It’s a one-time source, but it’s the fastest way to build an early stockpile alongside seasonal story progress.

Power Hours are the other freebie. During those limited windows, bonus Portable Extractors are added to your inventory automatically — you don’t need to complete anything, just be playing while the window is active.

Which Gizmos to farm first

If you’re rationing your time and Sprite Dust, the Portable Extractor and Extraction Site Booster do the heaviest lifting. The Extractor removes the need to travel to an Extraction Site at all, and the Booster doubles the Sprite Dust from your next crate, which feeds straight back into buying more Gizmos.

Cheat Code Locators are best spent on Wednesdays and Saturdays when they’re also the daily reward, and on Thursdays during the new Sprite event, when the odds of pulling something you don’t already own are at their best. Note that a Locator can still surface a Sprite already in your collection — it points you at a Cheat Code, not a guaranteed new companion.

The Spicy Taco and Llama Supply Drop sit at the bottom of the priority list. Both are situational rather than weak — the Pepper Effect can break you out of a losing chase, and a God Mode Llama out of a Supply Drop occasionally decides a fight — but neither is worth planning your week around.

One last thing worth repeating, because it costs players real value every season: none of this carries over. Whatever is sitting on your Gizmo Wheel when Override ends disappears with it, so spend down your stockpile in the final weeks rather than saving it for a season that will never use it.
