Fortnite Override Loot Hacks: Every Leaked Item in the Next 3 Updates

Loot Hacks are the part of Fortnite Override that lets you bend your own chest drops, and they do not stay still. The lineup swaps out with each major update, and unreleased build data has already mapped out the next three swaps — including a Fortnitemares-themed batch with one slot still sitting empty.

Quick answer: Every major update replaces all six Loot Hack slots, wipes the upgrades you bought, and refunds 100 percent of the Sprite Dust you spent on the old lineup — so there is no benefit to saving dust between rotations.

Loot Hacks work by spending Sprite Dust to add specific weapons and items to your personal chest pool. Hacked items then have a chance to appear when you open a Chest, and that pool is unique to your own boosts rather than the server’s.

The important mechanic is what happens on patch day. When the lineup rotates, your upgrade levels reset to zero and the dust comes back to you. A refresh in the leaked build returned +75,600 Sprite Dust in one go, immediately available to pour into the new six items. You can also trigger this manually at any time using the RESET ALL UPGRADES option in the Loot Hack menu.

Practical takeaway: dump your dust into whatever is in the lineup now. Holding a balance through a rotation gains you nothing, because everything you spend comes back anyway.

Four rotations are accounted for — the one running now, plus three queued in the files. Each carries six slots, though the last one is still a slot short.

The September 3 batch leans heavily on mid-to-long range gunplay. The Deadeye Assault Rifle is a scoped automatic rifle with a moderate fire rate, distinctive recoil and boosted headshot damage, built for medium and long engagements. The Rocket Ram and Marksman Visor round it out with mobility and vision utility.

Two weeks later the focus narrows to precision and duelling. The Killswitch Revolvers let you dodge to break incoming fire, then activate Hangtime mid-air to return shots with improved accuracy. That pairs directly with the Killswitch Sprite, which grants Hangtime and better accuracy when you aim while jumping or falling.

The October 1 Fortnitemares lineup and its empty sixth slot

The October 1 rotation is the Halloween one, and it is the most distinctive of the three. Instead of rifles, it stacks melee and mobility. The Wood Stake Shotgun fires wooden stakes that deal heavy damage up close, described in-game as built for vampires and the undead but effective on most things. Alongside it sit the Dual Fiend Hunters, the Witch Broom with a durability value, the Chainsaw, and Scream’s Knife, which is flagged as a Last Call Weapon.

The sixth slot is the notable gap. It exists in the files but has no item attached to it, which normally points to something Epic is holding back — a collaboration weapon or a reveal timed closer to the event. No item name has been attached to it yet, so treat any specific guess as unconfirmed.

Note: the Witch Broom and Chainsaw both have Fortnitemares history, and Epic has rebalanced returning items before. Old cooldowns, damage figures and durability numbers from previous years should not be assumed to carry over.

Placeholder names and descriptions to ignore

Unfinished entries in a build often borrow the name, icon and description of an existing item until the real asset is dropped in. That is happening across the September 3 lineup, so some of what appears on screen is not what will ship.

How to check and spend on Loot Hacks in the lobby

Load into the Battle Royale lobby and look at the top menu row, where PLAY, OVERRIDE, SHOP, LOCKER and the rest of the tabs sit. Select OVERRIDE.

Open the LOOT HACK section. Your six current slots are listed here alongside your Sprite Dust balance and the DETAILS readout for each item.

Spend Sprite Dust to raise the level of any slot you want appearing in your Chests. Higher levels increase how often that item shows up for you.

If you want to redistribute mid-rotation, use RESET ALL UPGRADES. You know it worked when every slot drops back to its base level and your dust balance jumps by the full amount you had invested.

With the refund built into every refresh, the only real decision left is which of the six items suits how you play — and that answer changes every two weeks. If you are eyeing the Halloween batch, the September 17 rotation is the last one you will hold before the Fortnitemares lineup arrives, empty slot and all.
