Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Where to Find All Audio Logs

Every audio log pickup spot in the Override story quest, what each stage pays out, and how to confirm the count moved.

The “Find audio logs” objective is a story quest in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, and it is one of the few things on the island that hands out a five-figure XP chunk for what amounts to two or three interacts. The logs themselves are small, glowing pickups sitting out in the open world, not chests or loot, and each one plays a chunk of dialogue between Jones, Doctor Slone, AMIE, Geno, and The Singularity.

Quick answer: Land west of Stone Sanctuary and grab the log under the large tree beside the red barn house, then go to Heatwave Harbor and take the one tucked behind the hedges between the two hotel buildings. Completing the stage pays 20,000 XP.

Find audio logs quest: reward and objective count

The quest shows up in the Quests menu under the Story section, listed simply as “Find audio logs” with a counter next to it. That counter is the part worth checking before you queue, because the objective has run with different totals. One version asks for two logs, another asks for three, and both pay the same 20,000 XP.

Open the Quests tab from the Battle Royale lobby first and read the counter. If it says 0/2, you only need the Stone Sanctuary and Heatwave Harbor pickups. If it says 0/3, you are on the version spread across Green Hill Zone and the mountains.

Audio log locations: Stone Sanctuary and Heatwave Harbor

These two sit on opposite ends of a fairly long walk, so the drop matters more than the search. Plan the Battle Bus path so you can eject over the western farmland first and keep enough of the match left to cross to the coast.

Ride the Battle Bus until you are lined up with the open ground west of Stone Sanctuary, then jump. Landing directly on the target saves you a long run, since the log is in farmland with little cover.

Dive toward the red barn house sitting on its own to the west of Stone Sanctuary. The barn is the landmark; the log is not inside it.

Walk to the large tree standing next to the barn and look at its base. The audio log rests on the ground under the branches, so hold the interact key when the Listen to Audio Log prompt appears.
Open the map and set a marker on Heatwave Harbor, then start the trip. It is a long haul across the island, so grab a vehicle if one is nearby rather than sprinting the whole way.

At Heatwave Harbor, head for the gap between the two hotel buildings and check behind the hedges lining it. The log is low to the ground and easy to run past, so approach slowly until the prompt shows.

Audio log locations: Green Hill Zone, the snowy peak, and the tunnel

The three-log version routes you through terrain instead of named POIs, and two of the three pickups sit at elevation. Ziplines and shockwaves do most of the work here, so pick up mobility items on the way rather than trying to build every ascent.

LogWhere it sits
1Green Hill Zone, on the ground next to a rock
2The top of the snowy mountain, reached by the zipline chain up the slope
3Inside the tunnel running under the opposite mountain, up a zipline rope into a hidden cavern opening
Glide into Green Hill Zone and land beside the marked rock. The log sits in the open next to it, and the counter moves to 1/3 the moment you interact.
Travel to the snowy mountain and ride the ziplines up to the summit. The second log is on the peak itself, and playing it triggers dialogue between Jones and Hope.
Cross to the opposite mountain using a shockwave and your glider, then enter the tunnel that runs underneath it. The entrance to the last log is hidden inside, not on the surface.
Inside the tunnel, take the zipline rope up into the cavern opening above and interact with the log waiting there. That third pickup closes out the quest.

How to confirm each audio log registered

Every log gives you two pieces of confirmation. The interact prompt reads Listen to Audio Log rather than the generic pickup text, and the moment you use it the quest counter on screen ticks up, so 0/3 becomes 1/3 and so on. Dialogue also starts playing immediately, which is the clearest signal you grabbed the right object and not a nearby prop.

If the counter has not moved after you interact with something, you almost certainly hit a different world object. Back off a few steps and look again for the glow on the ground, since the logs sit low and often against hedges, tree roots, or rock bases.

Note: you do not need to sit through the audio to get credit. The count updates on the interact, so you can keep moving and let the lines play out while you travel to the next spot.

What the Chapter 7 Season 4 audio logs reveal

The recordings are the season’s story delivery method, and they cover exchanges between Jones, Doctor Slone, AMIE, Geno, and The Singularity, with Hope appearing in the mountain-top log. Collecting them in a different order still works, since each log plays its own segment on pickup.

Because the pickups are stationary and unguarded, the only real risk is other players landing on the same spots early in a match. If a drop gets contested, the quest progress carries over, so it is often faster to take what you can, survive the fight or leave, and finish the rest on a later run.
