Fortnite Fortnitemares: Where to Find Chica from Five Nights at Freddy’s

Chica rotates through seven possible spawn spots across the island, and beating her lets you wear her suit as an extra life.

Chica rotates through seven possible spawn spots across the island, and beating her lets you wear her suit as an extra life.

Chica the Chicken is one of four Five Nights at Freddy’s animatronics stalking the Fortnite island during Fortnitemares 2026. Unlike Freddy and Foxy, who always wait inside Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria, Chica never spawns there. She drifts between a handful of spots scattered across the map, which is what makes her so hard to pin down in any single match.

Quick answer: Chica has no fixed spawn. She rotates through seven possible locations every round, all shared with Bonnie, so check the spots below and watch for footsteps as you move.

All seven Chica spawn locations in Fortnite

Chica is guaranteed to appear somewhere in every match, but the exact spot changes each time. She pulls from the same seven locations Bonnie uses, so visiting any of these gives you a shot at running into either one. If a spot is empty, another player likely cleared it already.

AreaExact spot
Lifty LodgeNear the ski-lift building or inside it, at the mountain’s summit
Chopped ShopInside the main garage building
Shaken Sanctuary (NE)Wandering the greenhouse building
Shaken Sanctuary (NW)On the helicopter pad or the room directly beneath it
Golden GroveRoom on your left in the large central building
South of Golden GroveThe car wash lobby
Northwest of Freaky FieldsNear the pool at the motel

Chica’s bright yellow body stands out in open areas, so she is usually easier to spot at these locations than the darker animatronics.

How to spot Chica before she gets you

Chica is a mini-boss, not a main boss, so the map has no skull marker for her. You may find her in the next room or behind a door without any warning. She camouflages herself by staying completely still while you look at her.

The one tell to watch for is footsteps. As you close in, Chica shifts position a little, which kicks up footstep indicators. They look identical to any other enemy’s, but her habit of freezing in place creates an odd stop-start pattern. If you see footsteps appear and then stall repeatedly, she is probably nearby.

How to beat Chica and possess her

Chica has 300 HP and attacks with melee, so she has to reach you before she can do damage. Keep your distance and use a ranged weapon to wear her down safely.

Equip a reliable weapon before you engage. Stay mobile so she cannot corner you, and keep firing until her health bar empties.
Once her HP hits zero, she stops moving and glitches in place. Walk up to her body until the Possess prompt appears.
Hold the interact button for roughly three seconds. Your skin is replaced with Chica’s, confirming the possession worked.

What possessing Chica gives you

Beating Chica does not drop a weapon. The reward is her shell, which works as an extra life while keeping your current inventory. Possession functions in Solo, and other animatronics will not attack you while you are wearing a suit.

  • Your character enters the animatronic shell with your existing loadout intact.
  • When the shell runs out of health, you are not eliminated.
  • You return to your normal character with 30 HP and your existing shield, but no overshield.
  • A brief protection window covers the moment the shell breaks and you pop back out.

Because Chica’s spawn is random, there is little reason to burn a whole match hunting specifically for her. Grab the shell if you cross paths with her during normal rotations, and treat it as insurance for the back half of the match when a single mistake can end your run.
