How the elim-reactive gold works in a match
Fractal Midas drops into a match in a mostly grey, faceted state. The gold is elim reactive, meaning the plating spreads across the model as you eliminate players rather than on a timer or a storm phase. It is purely cosmetic and does not change anything about your loadout or movement.
The progression is short. One elimination flips a portion of the outfit to gold, and the second one finishes the job, leaving the character fully plated for the rest of the match. Eliminations beyond that do not add further stages.
The first elimination is where the change is easiest to spot. Cracking a player’s shield and finishing them off with a shotgun immediately shifts part of the outfit from grey to gold, which is the confirmation that reactivity is enabled and working.
After the second elimination the model is fully gold, and later kills simply keep it that way. The finished look also carries back to the lobby at the end of the match, which is the cleanest place to check the completed style.
If the outfit stays grey no matter how many eliminations you get, the cause is almost always the edit style. Reactivity can be switched off in the locker, and it applies per item, so the outfit, back bling, and pickaxe each need to be checked separately.
