Mega Man arrives in Fortnite two ways during Chapter 7 Season 4: Override. The first is a competitive route that costs nothing but a top placement in a regional tournament. The second is the Item Shop, where the outfit and the rest of the Capcom set will sit behind V-Bucks like any other collaboration skin.
Quick answer: Enter the Override Series: Mega Man Cup on September 8–9, 2026 in your own region and finish inside that region’s placement cutoff (Top 50 to Top 500, depending on region) to unlock the outfit at no cost. Miss the cutoff and the only remaining route is buying it from the Item Shop.
Mega Man Cup placement cutoffs by region
The free unlock is a leaderboard reward, not a participation reward. You have to land inside a fixed number of top finishers in the region you queue in, and that number changes dramatically depending on how crowded the region is. Europe has the most generous cutoff; Asia, the Middle East, and Oceania have the tightest.
| Region | Local window | Placement needed |
|---|---|---|
| Europe (EU) | September 8, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Top 500 |
| Asia (ASIA) | September 8, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM | Top 50 |
| Middle East (ME) | September 8, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM | Top 50 |
| Oceania (OCE) | September 8, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Top 50 |
| Brazil (BR) | September 8–9, 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM | Top 100 |
| NA East (NAE) | September 9, 12:00 AM – 3:00 AM | Top 350 |
| NA Central (NAC) | September 9, 2:00 AM – 5:00 AM | Top 350 |
| NA West (NAW) | Start time not confirmed | Top 100 |
All windows are three hours long, and you play as many matches as you can fit inside that block. There is no second attempt in another region, so pick the one that matches where you normally queue.

Add to Google Preferences →The three Cup formats you can enter
Three separate events run under the Override Series banner, and they are not interchangeable. Two of them are duos, which means your placement depends on a partner as much as it does on you.
| Cup | Mode | Team size |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Man Mobile Cup | Battle Royale | Solos |
| Mega Man Cup | Battle Royale | Duos |
| Mega Man Cup | Zero Build | Duos |

How Mega Man Cup scoring works
Points come from two things: eliminations and how long you survive. Every knock adds to your total, and finishing higher in the lobby adds a placement bonus on top. Surviving to the final circle without a single elimination still scores, but it rarely scores enough on its own in a region with a Top 50 cutoff.
The exact point values are printed in the event details for your region. Open the scoring breakdown before your first match so you know whether your region rewards aggression or patience.

Note: there is a second, far easier reward attached to the event. Get five eliminations using the Mega Buster and you earn the Override Buster Blast Spray, regardless of where you finish on the leaderboard.
Buying Mega Man in the Item Shop
Missing the Cup does not lock you out. Mega Man is a shop release, separate from the Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass, and it should appear during one of the daily 7 PM EDT shop rotations this week. September 8 at 7 PM EDT is the earliest realistic slot, and September 10 at 7 PM EDT is the outer edge of the expected window. Neither has been confirmed by Epic.
Pricing has not been announced either. Collaboration outfits of this kind typically land somewhere in the 1,500 to 1,600 V-Bucks range when sold individually, and bundles usually cost more than the outfit alone.

What comes with the Mega Man set
The collaboration goes wider than a single outfit. Zero and X both feature, and X is attached to the Cup rewards according to decrypted cosmetic data, though whether X ends up purchasable separately has not been settled.
| Item | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Mega Man | Outfit | Uses the Dual Override design with a cel-shaded style |
| Zero | Outfit | Part of the same collaboration |
| X | Outfit | Listed among the Cup rewards |
| Rush | Sidekick | Mega Man’s companion |
| Spinning Blade | Pickaxe | Based on the Mega Man X3 weapon |
| Override Buster Blast | Spray | Five Mega Buster eliminations during the Cup |
How to confirm the skin unlocked
Cup rewards are granted to the account after the leaderboard for your region is finalized, not the instant your last match ends. Once it lands, open the Locker and check your outfit list — the item appearing there is the only confirmation that matters.

If nothing shows up, the reason is almost always one of three things. You finished outside your region’s cutoff, you played in a region whose leaderboard you were not eligible for, or you queued after the three-hour window had already closed. None of those can be appealed or retried later.
For most players, the shop is the realistic path. The Cup cutoffs are steep enough that clearing Top 50 in Asia, the Middle East, or Oceania means competing against dedicated tournament players, and even Europe’s Top 500 requires a strong three hours. Chasing the Override Buster Blast Spray is the low-effort version of participating: five Mega Buster eliminations, no leaderboard pressure, and you still walk away with something from the event.
