Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4, known as Override, is in its closing stretch, and the entire Sprite roster leaves with it. Everything you catch and master carries into your permanent collection, but the current loot pool — including the Fortnitemares Sprites — disappears when the season ends. That gives you a fixed window to fill the list and push your favorites to the mastery crown.
Quick answer: Find Sprites in Cheat Codes and Pumpkin Chests, extract them once to secure them, then bring each to Level 5 and extract it again for mastery. Override and Fortnitemares both wrap up October 31, 2026.
Where Sprites come from in Override
Sprite Chests aren’t available this season. Instead, find Cheat Code panels set into walls and rock formations across the island. Interact with a panel, then use your movement controls to enter the arrow sequence displayed on screen; the panel will release a Sprite. During Fortnitemares, these panels become Trick or Treat Cheats and may give you candy along with the Sprite.
Cheat Codes come in three rarities, and the rarity shifts what you are likely to pull.

Fortnitemares added Pumpkin Chests throughout the map. Smash one to receive a random Sprite; these chests slightly favor rarer drops, including the Spooky Sprites from the Halloween update. Regular chests can also drop a Sprite, though the chance is small.
A handful of Sprites aren’t governed by the Cheat Code system. Jonesy, Bush, and Adventure are already in your inventory at the start of every match. Until October 31, each Mecha Ghost mini-boss drops Blinky. Eliminate boss NPCs to get Jackrabbit. Crown is awarded only when you win a match with it equipped.
Extract your first Dumpster Dive Sprite at a proper Extraction Site to make sure the extraction registers and unlocks the free Jimothy raccoon Sidekick.
Best Cheat Code farming spots
Cheat Codes spawn all over the map, but some areas carry more panels than others. For solo players clearing the list, these locations give the most reliable runs.

A Cheat Code Locator Gizmo points you to the nearest panel so you are not searching blind, and it spawns an Epic or Legendary Cheat Code to open. It is the more common of the two locator Gizmos and keeps the same Sprite drop chances as a found code.
Honey and One Wish Willow, the two newest Sprites
Two Sprites joined the roster on October 15 with the second Fortnitemares wave. Both drop from Pumpkin Chests, regular chests, and Cheat Codes, and both leave the loot pool on October 31. Like every Override item, you find one in a match, carry it on your back, and extract it to add it to your collection. Get eliminated first and it drops where you fell for the attacker to grab.
One Wish Willow Sprite
Pulled from the Obsession horror crossover, One Wish Willow is built as a collection tool and carries four effects at once.
- After you eliminate another player, you can extract the Sprite they had equipped.
- Taking damage causes it to send everything around you outward.
- Unequip it and it becomes upset, marking your location on the map.
- Candy may spawn in containers.
That first effect is the reason to keep it equipped. Knocking out an opponent carrying a Sprite you do not own pulls it straight into play for you to extract.
Honey Sprite
Honey is built for ranged combat. Hitting an enemy with a ranged weapon can summon bees at the impact point, and they pursue the target that was hit. The chance of triggering the swarm rises with the Sprite’s level, so Level 5 Honey calls up bees much more often than Level 1 Honey.
Variant finishes
Each of the two new Sprites has a base form and the same five finishes available to the rest of the roster. Every finish retains the Sprite’s main power and adds a bonus of its own.

Quack variants and the Sprites Mastery track
The five Quack variants returning from last season aren’t available as match pickups. Earn them through the Sprites Mastery track at designated mastered-Sprite milestones. Reach 60 mastered Sprites to unlock the full set, then hit 70 to add Pixel Polli’s Mixtape Pixie style.

Quack Jonesy and Quack Adventure each add a perk the others lack. Both share 50% of the Sprite XP they earn with every other Sprite in your inventory, which makes either one the quickest way to drag the rest of your collection toward mastery once you own it.
Extract new Sprites without getting hunted
Standard Extraction Sites broadcast your position, and other players will often contest them. For a Sprite you do not already own, use one of the quieter methods below so you do not lose it to a third party.
- Portable Extractor Gizmo — the stealthiest option, with no alert to other players. Save these for brand-new Sprites.
- Extraction Accelerator Gizmo — Calls an extraction crate to a site instantly without notifying anyone. Use it to bank Sprites while keeping your Portable Extractors in reserve.
- Extraction Sites in the Storm — the loudest method, but useful because fewer players are usually around. Best when you want to save your Gizmos.
You can buy one Portable Extractor per day from Extraction Points and earn more through Daily Quests. Already-collected Sprites can be summoned again with Sprite Dust, so reserve fresh extractors for things that are new to you.
Time your sessions: Power Hours, Mastery Monday, and Sprite Spree Quests
Every Saturday this season runs two Power Hour blocks, from 2 PM to 4 PM ET and 9 PM to 11 PM ET. Each one boosts drop rates for particular Sprites and adds extra Portable Extractors to the loot pool. These continue through the end of the season, and a week-long run of Power Hours is expected during the final week.
Mastery Monday starts every Monday at 9 AM ET and lasts 24 hours, keeping double Sprite XP active throughout. Complete daily quests that day to get three additional Portable Extractors besides the one available to buy, making Monday the prime time to level up.
Sprite Spree Quests are set to go live for the final week of Override and hand out guaranteed free Sprites.

Level Sprites to mastery fast
Every Sprite runs from Level 1 to Level 5, and its power grows at each step. You earn progress by eliminating opponents, opening containers, using Cheat Codes, and extracting duplicate Sprites. Extracting a duplicate feeds its XP into the copy already in your collection, so there is no need to carry one Sprite all the way to Level 5 inside a single match.
On top of the double XP on Mondays, a few dedicated farming methods speed things up.
- Containers — Opening ammo boxes, fishing barrels, chests, Cheat Codes, or produce boxes awards XP to Sprites that follow the base rules.
- Eliminations — Defeating players, NPCs, or bosses grants XP to both base-rule Sprites and Bounty Hunter Sprites. A Bounty Hunter Sprite needs four eliminations on a normal day, reduced to two while double Sprite XP is active.
- Klombo Sprite — Earn XP by healing after taking damage in the Storm; using the fire pit at Stone Sanctum or at the building south-west of it also works. This consumes items such as Med Kits, Chug Jugs, or Exotic Candy Corn.
For a shortcut, purchase Sprite Treats from in-game vending machines for 1,500 Gold; each one advances a Sprite by one level. The Duck Vault at Cluster Coast and the Storage Units at Battlewoods are two reliable ways to farm Gold.
Use Lucky Locators and trading to close the gaps
The Lucky Locator guarantees a Sprite you do not already own. Because its pool shrinks as your collection fills, save it until you have gathered most of the roster so it can only hand you something rare or missing. You can earn one through the Sprite Mastery tab, with more likely to become available in the final week.
Trading remains the most direct route to a specific Sprite you’re missing. A friend who owns one you lack can drop it during a match for you to extract, and you can do the same for them. All Gizmos reset next season, so use your locators and extractors before the deadline rather than letting them expire.
How to confirm a Sprite is mastered
Level 5 alone doesn’t finish mastery. The game marks a Sprite as mastered only after you extract it at Level 5, then shows a crown icon for it in your collection. That crown confirms the mastery, and collecting 60 of them makes the Quack variants claimable. Every mastered Sprite stays in your collection after Override ends on October 31, so your progress carries over when the season changes.
