Fortnite Override: How to Get the Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite

The Storm Scout is one of the newer additions to the Sprite pool in Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override, and its Cheat Master version is the one most players are hunting. It keeps the Storm Scout’s Overdrive perk while adding the Cheat Master trait, which removes the fiddliest part of interacting with cheat codes on the island.

Quick answer: Land near the island’s high and mountainous areas, open Sprite Chests and input cheat codes (Purple codes give the best odds for variants), then use a Portable Extractor to secure the Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite before the match ends. If you leave without extracting, you do not keep it.

What the Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite does

The Cheat Master trait is the headline. With it equipped, every input counts as correct when you enter a cheat code found in the world, so you can mash any button instead of matching the exact arrow sequence. That turns a timing-sensitive minigame into a formality, which matters most on Monday cheat code days when you are burning through codes for drops.

It also keeps the base Storm Scout effect. After you take a set amount of storm damage, the Sprite applies Overdrive, which grants unlimited stamina, faster movement, and higher jumps for a short window. At max level it reveals future Storm Circles on your map, which is the reason players chase this one into the late game rather than dropping it for something flashier.

All three share the same summon cost of 0 and the same spawn behavior, so the only real difference in the hunt is how rare each version is inside the loot pool.

Where the Storm Scout Sprite spawns

The Storm Scout is spotted near high and mountainous areas of the island. Plan your bus route around elevated terrain rather than the dense named locations, and give yourself enough glide distance to cover more than one ridge before the first circle closes.

Three sources put the Sprite in your hands. Chests give a solid chance at the base version, cheat codes give the best chance overall, and other players carry them, so eliminating or trading with someone who already has one works just as well.

How to secure the Cheat Master Storm Scout Sprite in a match

Drop on high, mountainous terrain and start opening containers. Sprite Chests are the baseline source, and every container you open also feeds Sprite XP once you own the Sprite.
Look for cheat codes scattered around the island and input them. Blue codes are the most reliable route to the base Storm Scout, while Purple codes are what you want if the Cheat Master variant is the goal.
Pick up the Sprite when it drops. A teammate or ally can also drop a Cheat Master Storm Scout for you, including one already sitting at max level, and it transfers like any other Sprite.
Use a Portable Extractor to extract it. This is the step that actually locks the Sprite into your collection, and skipping it means the Sprite stays in the match rather than following you to the lobby.

Return to the lobby and check the Sprites tab in the Override menu. The Storm Scout entry should now show the Cheat Master variant as owned, and the Sprite is added to your Sprite Garden at the same time.

Note: Only extraction confirms ownership. If the Sprites tab still lists the Cheat Master Storm Scout as undiscovered after a match, you either never ran a Portable Extractor or you were eliminated before the extraction finished.

Overdrive levels and the max-level Storm Circle reveal

The Sprite levels up through the usual Sprite XP loop, meaning eliminations, opening containers, and extracting Sprites. Leveling changes two things: how much storm damage it takes to trigger Overdrive, and how long Overdrive lasts once it fires.

LevelWhat changes
Level 1Overdrive triggers after 10 storm damage and lasts 10 seconds
Each level upLess storm damage needed to trigger Overdrive, longer Overdrive duration
Level 5 (max)Overdrive lasts 20 seconds and future Storm Circles are revealed on the map

If someone hands you a Level 5 Cheat Master Storm Scout, you get the circle reveal immediately, no grinding required.

Best times to farm Sprites in Override

Override runs on a weekly rhythm, and lining your sessions up with it is the difference between a handful of codes and a full collection run. Mondays are cheat code days, Thursdays introduce newly discoverable Sprites, and Saturdays run Power Hours with boosted Sprite spawn rates and extra item drops.

DayWhat it means for Sprite hunting
MondayCheat Code Day, the best window to farm codes for variant rolls
ThursdayNew Sprite Day, when fresh Sprites become discoverable
SaturdayPower Hours, 2PM–4PM ET and 9PM–11PM ET, with boosted Sprite spawn rates

The Storm Scout entered the loot pool during the most recent Power Hours on Saturday, August 29, which started at 2PM ET and 9PM ET. It remains in the pool afterward, so you do not need a Power Hour to find one, you just get better odds inside those windows.

Trading for the Cheat Master variant safely

Trading is a legitimate route. Squad up, have the player carrying the Cheat Master Storm Scout drop it, and extract it yourself before the match ends. The handoff happens entirely in-game, and it is the fastest way to skip the Purple cheat code lottery.

What is not legitimate is buying Sprites or cheat codes from outside the game. Fake gameplay clips advertising unreleased Sprites and paid code sales have followed the season, and there is no supported way to purchase a Sprite outside a match. Stick to chests, codes, and in-game trades.

Once the Cheat Master Storm Scout is in your collection, it stays there for the rest of Override alongside the rest of this generation of Sprites, and it slots neatly next to the other Cheat Master variants like Klombo and Jonesy if you are working toward a full set.
