You do not need to grind it out on day one. Storm Scout is expected to stay in the pool for the remainder of Override rather than disappearing when the weekend event ends.

Four things change while the event is active. Storm Scout makes its debut, Sonic, Tails and Shadow Sprites show up more often (variants included), Sonic Power Sneakers get a boosted drop rate from chests, and 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors can turn up as rare chest finds.
Tip: the extra 1-Up Tokens are the easy path through the Meowscles “Acquire Power Ups” quest, which asks you to pick up eight power-ups. Running chests during the event window is the fastest way to clear it.
Where to find the Storm Scout Sprite in a match
Storm Scout is an Epic-rarity base Sprite, not a special reward, so it drops into the normal in-match Sprite pool once Epic flips the switch. There is no guaranteed spawn point and no purchase route.

Storm Scout Sprite ability and Overdrive duration by level
The trigger is simple. Take 10 points of Storm damage and the Sprite grants Overdrive plus unlimited Energy. Every level adds two seconds to that window.

Overdrive itself stacks several movement bonuses while it is running:
- 25 percent increased movement speed
- 50 percent improved air control
- 15 percent lower gravity
- 25 percent increased jump strength
- Unlimited Energy
The max-level forecasting perk is the real prize. Seeing the next circle before everyone else lets you claim position early instead of fighting for it, which matters most in the last few rotations of a match.
Note: the in-game description implies that leveling the Sprite lowers the amount of Storm damage needed to trigger it. In the current files, that requirement stays at 10 damage on every level. Epic could change it later.
How to confirm you unlocked it
Picking one up shows it equipped on your character’s back with the label STORM SCOUT SPRITE and its level, starting at SPECIAL LVL 1. The item text reads “Applies Overdrive after taking a certain amount of storm damage. Reveals future Storm Circles at max level.” After extraction, it appears on your Sprite Collection page and in the Sprite Garden alongside the rest of your Override collection.
What will not unlock the Storm Scout Sprite
There is no Lobby Hack or Admin Panel code that grants Storm Scout. The Admin Panel has handed out several Cheat Master Sprites this season, which is why codes claiming to unlock Storm Scout keep circulating, but it is a standard base Sprite and comes from normal in-match acquisition. Entering random codes does nothing.
The other common miss is timing. If you queue into a match before 2PM ET on August 29, the Sprite simply is not in the pool yet, and seeing a Storm-related entry greyed out in your collection does not mean you skipped a hidden unlock.

Season 4 runs on a fixed three-day rhythm, which is worth knowing if you are chasing the rest of the roster after Storm Scout.
