Shock Rocks are the glowing purple crystals that arrived with the Fortnite 41.10 update, and they turn a single inventory slot into an on-demand burst of vertical movement. Crush one and you get a short low-gravity window that lets you chain a triple jump in mid-air while ignoring fall damage completely. They fit a Chapter 7 Season 3 map built around fast rotations, so they work as both an escape button and an aggressive opener over someone’s build.
Quick answer: Consume a Shock Rock to activate the Shockwave effect, then press jump up to two more times while airborne for a triple jump that launches higher with each press. You take zero fall damage while the effect is active. Grab them from the river banks around the Zero Point, plus chests and floor loot.
What Shock Rocks do in Fortnite
Shock Rocks are a consumable movement item, not a weapon, and they take up one inventory slot. You can crush one on the spot for an instant effect, or gather it to store a supply for later. A single slot holds up to six crystals, so you can build a stack before committing to one.
Once consumed, the Shockwave effect runs for a limited time. Three small crystals begin orbiting your character’s torso, and that orbit is your timer cue. While those crystals are spinning, your jump button does far more than a normal hop, and gravity stops hurting you on landing.
| Attribute | Detail |

| Movement effect | 3 mid-air jumps with scaling vertical launch |

The most reliable spot is the Zero Point, the giant floating orb in the center of the map directly north of Sinister Strip. The river banks that surround the orb and the sandy ground beneath it are packed with loose crystals lying right on the floor. Even when other players drop there, the crystals are spread out enough that several people can stock up at once.

If the area around the Zero Point is already picked clean, Shock Rocks also appear as regular floor loot and inside standard chests across the map. Active Extraction Sites, where squads fight over rare Sprites, are another dependable place to grab them.

You can also buy Shock Rocks from the Vending Machines scattered around the island. A purchase costs 1,000 gold bars, which gives you a fixed way to top up when the ground loot is dry.

Generate a charge with the Aura Sprite
If the rivers are stripped, you can skip the search entirely. With the Aura Sprite slotted as your companion, dealing a set amount of damage to enemies automatically awards a fresh Shock Rock charge. That converts combat into mobility without changing your route, which is especially strong in Zero Build where you cannot ramp up for height.
How the Shock Rock triple jump works

You know the effect is working when the three crystals orbit your torso. The jumps only fire while that orbit is visible. Once it fades, gravity returns to normal and the extra leaps stop.
Best ways to use Shock Rocks in a match
The fall-damage immunity is the strongest reason to keep a rock in your loadout. If someone shatters the base of your tower or you get stuck on a collapsing ramp, you can step off the tallest structure on the island and land safely without losing health. It works as a straight insurance policy against gravity.
On offense, the triple jump breaks traditional build fights. Because the item is new, opponents are not expecting you to scale an entire defensive wall in a couple of seconds. Spam your mid-air jumps to climb past their build and catch them from above before they react.
Chaining all three leaps also covers a large amount of ground, which makes Shock Rocks a quick way to rotate across the map when no vehicle is nearby. With six per slot and the Aura Sprite topping you off during fights, there is little reason to leave a Shock Rock behind once you spot one. Keep the jumps tightly timed, pull a stack from the rivers under the Zero Point, and you carry an escape button and an aggressive opener in the same slot.
