Fortnite Sprites: Every New Addition and How to Collect Them

A full breakdown of all 18 sprites, their abilities, variants, and how extraction locks them into your collection.

A full breakdown of all 18 sprites, their abilities, variants, and how extraction locks them into your collection.

Sprites are the collectible companions that arrived with Chapter 7 Season 3 of Fortnite Battle Royale. Each one is a small creature that follows you into a match and carries its own passive ability, from topping up your shields to improving your loot. There are 18 sprites in total, and because most of them come in several collectible variants, the full set runs to more than 80 entries.

Quick answer: Grab a sprite from a chest during a match, then extract it at an Extraction Site or with a Portable Extractor before the match ends to keep it permanently. Once unlocked, you summon it in future matches by spending Sprite Dust.

What the June 25, 2026 update added

The June 25, 2026 patch was the season’s first big content drop, and it brought five brand-new sprites to collect: Striker, Fishy, Aura, Boss, and Grim Reaper. That same update introduced the Gem and Holofoil variants, expanding how many versions of each sprite you can chase.

It also added Quack Snacks, a consumable that levels up your active sprite and heals you at the same time. If you are trying to push a sprite toward its top level for the legendary payoff, that item speeds things up. The Galaxy variant, which grants extra ammo when looting, had already landed a week earlier on June 18, 2026.

How to get and keep a Sprite

Finding a sprite is only half the job. The extraction step is what turns a temporary match pickup into a permanent unlock.

Open chests during a match. Sprites appear inside regular chests, Sprite Chests, Relic (Rare) Chests, and supply drops. Some sprites only turn up in specific places, which is covered in the table below.

Take the sprite to an Extraction Site, or use a Portable Extractor, and complete the extraction before the match ends. If the match finishes before you extract, the sprite does not carry over, and you will have to find it again.

In later matches, summon the sprite you unlocked by spending Sprite Dust. Rarer sprites and variants cost more Dust to bring into a game.

You know it worked when the sprite shows up in your collection and becomes available to summon. A missed extraction is the single most common reason a sprite you found does not stick, so make it your priority once you spot one you need.

Sprite variants and their bonuses

Every sprite except Burnt Peanut comes in Normal, Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy versions, and some also have newer variants. Each variant keeps the sprite’s own ability and stacks an extra bonus on top. A Gummy Fire, for example, still releases its fiery burst and adds the Gummy reward.

VariantBonus
NormalBase sprite with only its own ability.
GoldBonus XP from eliminations. A rarer drop that costs more Dust to summon.
Gummy+10% Sprite Dust whenever you extract a sprite.
Galaxy+20% more ammo when looting. Added June 18, 2026.
GemTakes 30% less fall damage.
HolofoilGives your squad a 30% better chance to find rare sprites.
QuackA special version of Zero Point. Its in-game bonus is not confirmed yet.

You do not unlock variants through a separate menu. You find each one in a chest and extract it during a match, exactly like the Normal version. When you spot a Gold, Gummy, Galaxy, or newer variant in a chest, grab it and extract it before the match ends to add it to your collection.

With five sprites and two variant types added on June 25, the collection is deeper than it has ever been. Prioritize the sprite abilities that fit how you play, keep an eye out for the tougher spawns like Dream, Punk, and the Mythic-tier Zero Point, and remember that no sprite is truly yours until you have extracted it.
