The Storm Scout Sprite is a Rare Sprite in Fortnite Override that turns the Storm into a tool instead of a threat. Take a bit of Storm damage while it is equipped and you get Overdrive, a burst of speed and mobility that makes rotating back to the safe zone far easier. It joined the loot pool during the Sonic Hours on August 29, at 2 PM ET and 9 PM ET.

Storm Scout Sprite effect and Overdrive stats
The Sprite triggers once you are standing in the Storm. After you take 10 Storm damage, it grants Overdrive for a short window. This works much like the Cube Sprites from the previous season, only stronger, since Storm Scout also gives you unlimited Energy and eventually shows you where the next circle will land.
While Overdrive is active, you receive these movement bonuses:
- 25% increased movement speed
- 50% improved air control
- 15% lower gravity
- 25% increased jump strength
- Unlimited Energy
The buff lasts longer as the Sprite levels up, and at max level it also reveals future Storm circles on your map, which is a real edge in the closing rounds of a match.

Note: the in-game description says leveling up lowers the amount of Storm damage needed to activate the power, but the current files keep the requirement at 10 damage across every level. Epic Games could adjust this later.
Where the Storm Scout Sprite spawns
The Storm Scout Sprite appears near high and mountainous areas of the island. Because its power is tied to the Storm, it pays to search the higher-altitude spots even as the safe zone shrinks. Strong places to look include Lifty Lodge, Green Hill Zone, Golden Grove, and Wonkeland.

How to get the Storm Scout Sprite
Any method that drops Sprites can hand you the base Storm Scout Sprite, but the odds are not equal. Cheat Codes are the most reliable route, and their color rarity matters. Blue (Rare) Cheat Codes match the Sprite’s Rare tier, so they give the best chance at the base version. Purple Cheat Codes are the play if you are chasing the rarer variants.

Searching inside the Storm is riskier, but it lines up neatly with this Sprite. You can dip into the Storm, trigger Overdrive, open Chests without being disturbed, and extract Sprites while other players stay in the safe zone. Just keep Campfires in mind so you can heal once you step back out.

There are three Storm Scout Sprites to collect, including the base version. Each variant keeps the core Overdrive power and adds its own perk. The Cheat Master and Gold versions are much harder to find, and Purple Cheat Codes give the best shot at them.

Leveling up the Storm Scout Sprite
The Sprite climbs from Level 1 to Level 5 using regular Sprite XP. You earn that XP through eliminations, opening containers, and extracting Sprites. Push it to Level 5 to reach the 20-second Overdrive window and unlock the future circle reveal, which is what makes the Storm Scout worth carrying into the late game.
Once you hold it, the Storm Scout Sprite rewards an aggressive edge-of-the-zone style. Camp the border of the safe area, dip into the Storm to charge Overdrive, and use the speed and unlimited Energy to rotate ahead of everyone else.
