Gakuran is not just about fighting, a big part of its charm is the interactable objects scattered around Nishikata that let you relax, express yourself, and hang out with other players. Two of the most rewarding are the Chalkboard and the Library books. This guide covers how each one works and what you can do with them.
The Chalkboard: a shared canvas

The Chalkboard is a drawing surface where you can create artwork, write notes, sketch ideas, or leave messages for others to find. To draw, you first need a piece of chalk in your possession, once equipped, interact with the board and start drawing directly onto its surface.
What makes it special is that it is fully collaborative:
- Multiple chalk colors: use different colors to create colorful drawings and designs.
- Real-time multiplayer: several players can draw on the same board at once.
- Shared visibility: anything drawn is visible to everyone nearby.
- Persistent artwork: drawings stay on the board until someone erases them.
Because different players can use different chalk colors, it is easy to tell contributions apart, which makes group art, classroom lessons, event planning, or games genuinely fun. When the board fills up, anyone with a Chalk Eraser can wipe existing drawings and markings to clear space for new content.

Add to Google Preferences →The Library: reading actual books
Books are found in the Library, located on the second floor at the end of the left hallway. The library holds a selection of readable books you can browse and check out for personal reading.
- Visit the Library.
- Browse the available book collection.
- Select a book you want to read.
- Open the book to begin reading.
Unlike a simple text popup, these books contain actual pages you flip through one by one, with real written content on each page so you can read at your own pace.
- Multiple books: choose from a variety of different titles.
- Page turning: read through books page by page.
- Full reading experience: real written content rather than a single summary screen.
- Library collection: discover and select books directly from the Library.
More things to do around Nishikata
The Chalkboard and Library are just two of the interactables in the world. If you are looking for more to do between fights, you can also shoot hoops on the basketball court or pick up a playable instrument for a rhythm-game jam session with friends. Between drawing, reading, ball, and music, there is plenty to keep you busy in Nishikata even when you are not throwing hands.
