The confirmed Primogem, Fate, and selector payouts for September 28, plus why the free limited 5-star talk stays unverified.

The confirmed Primogem, Fate, and selector payouts for September 28, plus why the free limited 5-star talk stays unverified.

Genshin Impact launched on September 28, 2020, which makes September 28, 2026 the game’s sixth anniversary. The reward package attached to it follows the pattern HoYoverse has settled into over the past few years, and it arrives alongside Version 7.1 rather than as a standalone drop.

Quick answer: The confirmed sixth anniversary rewards are 1,600 Primogems, 10 Intertwined Fates, a standard 5-star character selector, and an anniversary glider. Version 7.1 goes live on September 23, 2026, and the anniversary itself lands on September 28, 2026. A free limited 5-star character has not been confirmed.

Confirmed anniversary rewards for 2026

Four items make up the core package. Everything else circulating right now sits outside what has been locked in.

RewardAmountWhat it does
Primogems1,600Equivalent to 10 wishes
Intertwined Fates10Used on limited event banners
Standard 5-star selector1Pick one character from the standard pool
Anniversary glider1Cosmetic wind glider

The 1,600 Primogems and 10 Intertwined Fates together come out to 20 wishes. That is the same Primogem figure anniversaries have used in past years, so the selector and the glider are the parts worth paying attention to.

How and when the rewards reach your account

Anniversary content does not all land on one day. It spreads across the version update closest to late September, a login event that runs for roughly a week to ten days, and a browser-based web event tied to your UID.

Log in on each day of the anniversary login event. The Primogem payout is split across separate daily claims, so skipping days costs you part of the total.
Open your in-game mail. Items tied to the exact anniversary date, including the selector and the glider, are delivered there rather than through an event menu.
Complete the anniversary web event in a browser. These run on your UID and pay out separately from the in-game login rewards.

You know a claim worked when the item appears in your Inventory and your Primogem counter updates on the top bar. Mail rewards need to be manually collected, so an unopened mailbox is the most common reason a player thinks a reward never arrived.

Version 7.1 banners and your total wish budget

Version 7.1 arrives on September 23, 2026, five days before the anniversary date. Two new 5-star characters headline it. Vesna is an Anemo sword DPS built around Stellar Swirl, and Vodyanitsa is a Hydro catalyst support who also heals. Reruns for the Cryo pair Skirk and Escoffier are widely anticipated but not confirmed.

Counting the anniversary payout together with the rest of the version’s Primogem income, the wish totals available across Version 7.1 look like this.

Account typeApproximate wishes in Version 7.1
Free-to-play~91
Blessing of the Welkin Moon~114

Those numbers assume you clear the version’s events, Spiral Abyss chambers, and quest content rather than logging in only for dailies.

The free limited 5-star selector rumor

A persistent claim says the sixth anniversary will include a free limited 5-star character selector, sometimes paired with a signature weapon selector. Nothing about that has been officially announced, and the leakers pushing it have uneven track records.

Treat it as unverified until HoYoverse says otherwise. The practical consequence is simple. Plan your Primogem spending around the 20 wishes you know are coming, not around a selector that may never exist. If you hold back pulls on a Version 7.1 banner expecting a free limited character to cover a gap in your roster, and it does not materialize, you lose the banner instead of gaining anything.

Note: any change to the reward package would come through an official announcement close to the date, not through a leak thread.

How this compares to previous anniversary rewards

The 1,600 Primogem figure has been the anniversary constant. What changes year to year is the item attached to it. The fourth anniversary shipped the Firstborn Firesprite and Kaboom Box gadgets plus a Sanctifying Elixir, which lets you obtain an Artifact with attributes you choose. That last one had real build consequences rather than being purely decorative, and it is the benchmark most players measure new packages against.

The first anniversary in 2021 went the other direction. The celebration leaned almost entirely on social media contests and web events, with no meaningful in-game event attached, and the backlash reshaped how every anniversary since has been handled. Against that history, the 2026 package is a functional one. A standard 5-star selector guarantees a character rather than a raffle ticket, and 10 Intertwined Fates go straight to limited banners.

Birthday cake rules during anniversary week

Anniversary week does not change how character birthdays work, and this trips people up every September. If you set your Traveler’s birthday to a date that has already passed in the current year, you will not receive the birthday cake for that year. Birthday voice-over lines still unlock normally for characters you obtain later. There is no anniversary override for a missed birthday date.

The safest approach through late September is to bank Primogems against the Version 7.1 banners you actually want, claim every login day rather than batching them at the end, and check your mailbox on and immediately after September 28. If a larger reward does get announced, it will be additive. Building a pull plan around one that has not been confirmed is where accounts end up short.
