Genshin Impact Version 7.0, “Everwinter Without Mercy,” opens the door to Snezhnaya, the Nation of Cryo and the final major region of Teyvat. Genshin Impact 7.0 livestream codes and rewards
Three codes were shared during the broadcast, each worth 100 Primogems plus a bonus material. Together they give you 300 Primogems. They are time-sensitive and stop working after August 3, 2026, at 12:00 AM (UTC-4), so redeem them quickly.

When Version 7.0 goes live
The update arrives on August 12, 2026, across every platform where Genshin Impact is available. The game skips straight from Version 6.7 into Snezhnaya, so 7.0 doubles as the closing chapter of the current version and the start of the new story arc.
New characters: Odette, Alyosha, and the Cryo Traveler
Odette is the only new 5-star this patch. She is a Cryo sword user from Snezhnaya who leads a double life as a celebrated ballet dancer and a member of the Fatui, once serving under La Signora. Her kit is built around the Stellar reaction system, delivering Cryo damage and buffs that push Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl damage. That makes her a natural partner for existing Stellar-Conduct specialists such as Sandrone.
Alyosha is a 4-star Electro polearm character, a hunter who fights alongside his dog, Tugarin. He works as an off-field Electro applicator who heals allies and buffs their attack, and he raises Stellar-Conduct damage. You can add him for free by completing part of the new Archon Quest, “Everwinter Without Mercy.”
The Traveler also unlocks Cryo in Snezhnaya. Unlike Natlan, you do not need to grind through Archon Quests first, resonating with the Tsaritsa’s Statue of the Seven grants the element right away. The Cryo Traveler can trigger both Stellar-Conduct and Stellar-Swirl and picks up a new weapon in the region.

New weapons and artifacts
Two new 5-star swords headline the weapon list, along with a fresh set of Battle Pass and forgeable weapons. The Exaiphanes Blade is a free weapon the Traveler can obtain, while Odette’s signature sword anchors the weapon banner.

Two new artifact sets are also added for the region, Heart of the Furnace and Scarlet Proof.
Snezhnaya, Snezhnograd, and the new TPS mode
Snezhnaya is a frozen nation of rebellion built to survive its brutal cold. Its towering capital, Snezhnograd, is reached by train, a first for Genshin Impact’s transport options. Like Dragonspine, the region carries a low-temperature mechanic, so keep Pyro characters ready to stay warm.
The standout addition is a third-person shooting mode. A device called The Eye of Graeae lets you summon Snezhnaya’s trains near a railway, open your firearm loadout, and change parts of the environment. The shooting mode is locked to Snezhnaya and plays out inside special areas called Shadow Realms, where varied challenges let you customize and upgrade your chosen weapon. Each firearm interacts with the elemental system, so different guns trigger different reactions.
The region has its own Archon Quest line plus a batch of world quests, and new Meeting Point quests for Odette, Alyosha, and Vodyanista, each carrying their own rewards. A recurring story thread is the Tsaritsa, who now needs only the Pyro Gnosis, while Ronova, the Shade of Death, steps forward as an enemy.
Stellar Swirl and the reaction system
Snezhnaya expands the Stellar Glimmer reaction family with Stellar Swirl. When a character holding a Stellar Linchpin triggers a Cryo and Anemo reaction, a Stellar Vortex forms and pushes extra Cryo damage onto enemies. Paired with Stellar-Conduct, this dual-reaction setup is the core theme of the new region, and it is where Odette, Alyosha, and the Cryo Traveler all plug in.
New bosses in Snezhnaya
Ronova arrives as a weekly boss expected to drop upgrade materials for Snezhnayan characters. Two new world bosses join the roster as well.

Events and free characters
Several events run through the patch, and a couple of them hand out free characters. The Great Expeditionist Challenge rewards a free copy of Diona, and the To Temper Thyself and Journey Far selector adds a wave of Fontaine characters, including Lyney, Wriothesley, Navia, Xianyun, Chiori, Sigewinne, Clorinde, Emilie, and Yumemizuki Mizuki.
