Genshin Impact 7.1 Anniversary Rewards and Free Wishes, Explained

What the sixth anniversary package is expected to include, when it lands, and how many pulls it adds.

Genshin Impact’s sixth anniversary falls inside Version 7.1, which puts the annual gift package, the login card, and the standard 5-star selector all in the same patch window. The reward structure follows the pattern HoYoverse has used since the fourth year, and the totals matter because 7.1 is not expected to ship a major new map, so exploration income is thin.

Quick answer: The anniversary package is expected to pay 1,600 Primogems by in-game mail plus 10 Intertwined Fates through a 7-day login card, which equals 20 Event Wishes, along with one free Wanderlust Invocation 5-star from the selector. Nothing is locked until the Version 7.1 Special Program on September 11, 2026.

Anniversary dates and the 7.1 patch calendar

The anniversary date and the patch date are not the same thing. Version 7.1 opens first, and the birthday rewards arrive a few days later inside that patch.

DateWhat happens
September 11, 2026Version 7.1 Special Program, with three livestream codes and official reward wording
September 23, 2026Version 7.1 goes live after maintenance, running roughly 42 days through early November
September 28, 2026Sixth anniversary; mail and login rewards open around this date
Around October 14, 2026Phase 2 banner swap

Note: Special Program codes typically stay valid for about 24 hours, so they need to be redeemed the same day the stream airs. They can be entered at Adventure Rank 10 or higher on the official gift redemption page.

What the anniversary package is expected to contain

The sixth year reuses the same two delivery pipes as the fifth: a 7-day cumulative login card and a mail drop. The fifth anniversary mail held 1,600 Primogems, a Serenitea Pot furnishing, a companion gadget, a Sanctifying Elixir, and Fragile Resin, while the login card paid 10 Intertwined Fates, 8 Hero’s Wit, 80,000 Mora, and a commemorative item.

The Initial Top-Up Bonus reset has returned with every September anniversary patch since launch, restoring the doubled reward on each Genesis Crystal tier (60, 300, 980, 1,980, 3,280, and 6,480). Unused doubles do not stack into two, and pity or Wish history is unaffected.

The free 5-star selector and who is in the pool

A free standard 5-star pick has appeared at every anniversary since Version 5.0, and it draws from the Wanderlust Invocation roster: Jean, Diluc, Qiqi, Mona, Keqing, Tighnari, Dehya, Yumemizuki Mizuki, and any later standard additions. The choice is final once confirmed, so it is worth deciding before opening the event card.

A second, separate selector has circulated in leak channels: one older limited 5-star plus that character’s signature weapon, restricted to characters the account has never owned, with Archons such as Venti, Zhongli, Raiden Shogun, and Furina excluded. HoYoverse has not published anything about it, and community reaction has been openly skeptical.

Treat that second selector as unconfirmed. If it never materializes, the anniversary still pays the standard picker, and accounts that already own every eligible standard name would gain nothing from it anyway.

How to claim the anniversary rewards

Complete Prologue: Act I, “The Outlander Who Caught the Wind.” This unlocks the Wish system and the Invite Character button that the selector uses.
After the September 23 maintenance ends, open the Events menu and find the anniversary event card. Tap Invite Character, choose one Wanderlust Invocation unit, and confirm. The pick cannot be changed afterward.
Log in on every day of the 7-day card. Day 7 alone carries 5 of the 10 Intertwined Fates, and a missed day leaves that slot unclaimed.
Open your Mail after September 28 and claim the 1,600 Primogems along with the gadget and material bundle. Mail items expire after 30 days.
Redeem the three Special Program codes on the day of the September 11 stream. If the in-game redemption box rejects a code, use the web gift page, then relog and collect the rewards from Mail.

You know each part worked when the Primogem counter updates immediately after claiming mail, and the selected character appears in your character list rather than in Wish history.

Version 7.1 Primogem count and total pulls

The anniversary bundle is only part of the patch income. Current estimates put a free-to-play run at roughly 11,065 Primogems and 22 Intertwined Fates across the full 42 days, with 15 Acquaint Fates for the Standard Banner. Dividing 11,065 by 160 gives about 69 pulls, and adding the 22 Fates lands near 91 limited wishes.

Player typePrimogemsIntertwined FatesLimited pulls
Free-to-play11,06522~91
Welkin Moon14,84522~114
Welkin + Battle Pass15,52526~123

Blessing of the Welkin Moon adds 3,780 Primogems over the patch, worth about 23.6 extra wishes before counting the Genesis Crystals from the purchase itself. The paid Battle Pass contributes another 680 Primogems and four Intertwined Fates on top of that.

Where the income comes from is unusual this patch. Because no major new region is expected, the anniversary bundle replaces much of the exploration and achievement income that Version 7.0 drew from Snezhnaya.

Paimon’s BargainsIntertwined and Acquaint Fates

Acquaint Fates are listed separately from limited pulls because they only work on the Standard Wish, not on Character Event Wishes. Redemption codes released later are not folded into these figures, so the final number can climb.

Do 91 pulls guarantee Vesna or Vodyanitsa?

No. A Character Event Wish can take up to 90 pulls to produce a 5-star, with soft pity starting near 74. Losing the 50/50 pushes the true worst case to 180 wishes, or 28,800 Primogems, for a guaranteed featured character.

Around 91 free wishes gets you to one 5-star from zero pity, but that 5-star can easily be an off-banner standard character. Pulling both leaked 7.1 units is possible with luck, though it needs carried-over savings, existing pity, or a stored guarantee.

The leaked Phase 1 lineup names Vodyanitsa, a 5-star Hydro catalyst support, and Vesna, an Anemo DPS built around Stellar-Swirl. Banner order can still flip, and reruns floated by leakers include Skirk, Escoffier, Zibai, and Linnea.

Skipping 7.1 to save for Version 7.2

Version 7.2 is currently expected around November 4, 2026, with early information pointing to Mitya as a 5-star Electro character and Valeriy as a 4-star Electro support. Both are subject to change before any official reveal.

Sitting out 7.1 buys a full extra patch of savings, which is the safer call if neither Vesna nor Vodyanitsa fills a real gap in your teams. The free selector, the mail Primogems, and the login Fates all arrive regardless of whether you spend anything on the banners.

Every number above outside the confirmed patch pattern remains an estimate while 7.1 is in beta. Rewards can be added, adjusted, or dropped, and the September 11 Special Program is the point where the anniversary package stops being a projection.
