Unlock requirements, objective order, and completion times for White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking and A Rekviem for the Underworld.

Unlock requirements, objective order, and completion times for White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking and A Rekviem for the Underworld.

Version 7.1 pushes the Snezhnaya storyline two acts further, closing out the theater murder plot from Act 2 and moving the Traveler deeper into the Tsaritsa’s court. Both new Archon Quests are gated behind the acts before them, so there is a fixed order to work through.

Quick answer: Complete Chapter 7 Act 2, Wraith’s Nocturne, to open Act 3, White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking. Finishing Act 3 unlocks Act 4, A Rekviem for the Underworld.

Chapter 7 unlock order in Genshin Impact 7.1

The Snezhnaya chapter runs as a straight chain. You cannot skip ahead to either 7.1 act, and each one only appears once the previous act’s final objective is cleared.

Act 1 opens with the voyage to Snezhnaya and Columbina seeing the Traveler and Paimon off before the Chapter VII title card appears.

Act 2 is the theater arc. The Korolevskiy Theater is sealed by an impossible blizzard, guests start dying without a mark on them, and the act ends with the Tsaritsa’s arrival in the throne room.

How long Act 3 takes to finish

White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking runs roughly two hours to two hours ten minutes if you use auto-dialogue and skip through conversations as fast as the game allows. Watching the cutscenes, reading dialogue, and talking to the optional NPCs after key scenes pushes it to about two hours 45 minutes to three hours.

Budget extra time for Act 4 on top of that if you plan to clear both in one sitting.

White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking objectives

A Rekviem for the Underworld: Act 4 requirements

A Rekviem for the Underworld is the fourth act of Chapter 7 and shipped alongside Act 3 in the same update, so there is no separate wait between them. The single unlock condition is finishing White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking — there is no extra Adventure Rank gate or side quest to clear in between.

As with earlier versions, clearing these Archon Quests before the version update period ends grants additional rewards on top of the normal quest payout.

How to confirm each act is complete

Every act bookends itself with a full-screen title card. Starting one shows the chapter and act name — the same way Chapter VII: Act II Wraith’s Nocturne announced itself once the theater doors were sealed. Clearing one plays a closing cutscene, then displays the act name with Quest Completed and a To be continued line before returning you to the world.

If you see that completion card for White Night, Like A Dream Upon Waking, the next entry in your quest list should be A Rekviem for the Underworld. If it has not appeared yet, check that the final gathering scene actually finished rather than being interrupted by a teleport or menu exit, then reopen the Quests menu under Archon Quests.

Both acts stay permanently available once unlocked, so there is no risk of losing access to the story itself. Only the version-limited completion rewards are tied to the update window, which makes clearing Act 3 and Act 4 early in the patch the safer approach.
