Genshin Impact 7.2: Valeriy Kit Leaks and Constellations

A breakdown of Valeriy's leaked Impact Potential gauge, Electro shield, Assault Command stacks, and constellation upgrades.

A breakdown of Valeriy’s leaked Impact Potential gauge, Electro shield, Assault Command stacks, and constellation upgrades.

Valeriy is lining up as one of the two Electro characters attached to Genshin Impact’s Version 7.2 lineup, and his full talent sheet has now circulated from beta testing. He is a sword user built to stand on the field, keep the team alive with a shield, and push Electro damage upward through a stack system rather than hitting hard himself. Everything below comes from pre-release testing and can still be adjusted before launch.

Quick answer: Valeriy is a leaked 4-star Electro sword support. His Elemental Skill deploys a shield and grants 40 Impact Potential, which powers a special Charged Attack that buffs the active character’s Electro damage.

His buff package is aimed squarely at Stellar-Conduct teams, the Cryo and Electro reaction that Snezhnaya content keeps building around. He is repeatedly paired with Mitya, the 5-star Electro catalyst expected to headline the same update, and his shield plus damage bonuses are described as covering a support slot until more premium options arrive.

Elemental Skill: Offensive Defense: Fortress Advance

The Skill is the opener for everything else Valeriy does. Casting it deals AoE Electro damage, hands him 40 Impact Potential, and deploys an Electro Shield around the active character.

  • Shield absorption scales off Valeriy’s ATK, so ATK is doing double duty as both a defensive and offensive stat for him.
  • The shield has 250% effectiveness against Electro damage, matching his own element.
  • The 40 Impact Potential granted is exactly the threshold needed to fire his special Charged Attack.

That last point matters. A single Skill cast is enough to immediately unlock the enhanced Charged Attack, meaning his basic loop works without any setup beyond pressing E.

Impact Potential and Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage

Impact Potential is Valeriy’s personal energy gauge, separate from Elemental Energy. It caps at 100 by default. Once he holds at least 40, a Charged Attack no longer performs the usual Physical sweep. Instead, he consumes the entire gauge and performs Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage, dealing AoE Electro damage and gaining 15 stacks of Assault Command.

Assault Command is where his team value actually lives. Each stack is spent to boost an instance of Electro damage dealt by the active character, whether that comes from a Normal Attack, Charged Attack, Plunging Attack, Elemental Skill, or Elemental Burst. The size of the boost is based on Valeriy’s ATK.

Which damage qualifies depends on his state. While Valeriy is in the Stellar-Conduct state, stacks are consumed only by Electro damage counted as Stellar-Conduct reaction damage. Outside that state, stacks apply to any Electro damage instance.

When one instance of Electro damage hits several enemies at once, stacks are consumed per enemy hit. Fifteen stacks disappear quickly in crowded fights, so the barrage is best timed right before a big multi-target rotation.

Elemental Burst and the Impact Potential refill loop

Firepower Focus: Thunderous Assault deals AoE Electro damage and launches a Thunderstorm Shell upward. The shell breaks apart into a heavy spread of barrages that fall onto the ground, dealing further AoE Electro damage to nearby enemies.

The Burst is also the second way to refill Impact Potential, through the ascension talent Accompanied by Advancing Barrage. While the Thunderstorm Shell is still falling, every time an Electro character on the field lands an attack on an enemy, Valeriy gains 5 Impact Potential, up to a maximum of 80 Impact Potential per Burst.

That refill feeds directly into his second ascension talent, Charge the Breach, which makes overfilling the gauge worthwhile. Each point of Impact Potential spent on Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage raises the damage bonus granted by Assault Command.

StateAssault Command bonus per point consumed
In Stellar-Conduct state0.9% of Valeriy’s ATK
Not in Stellar-Conduct state0.3% of Valeriy’s ATK

Because the bonus scales with how much gauge is spent, firing the barrage at 40 Impact Potential is the weakest possible version of it. A full 100-point dump is worth more than twice as much, which pushes the rotation toward casting the Burst, letting an Electro teammate build the gauge back up, and only then using the Charged Attack.

Normal attacks and the exploration passive

  • Normal Attack: up to three sword strikes in sequence.
  • Charged Attack: spends Stamina for Physical damage to nearby enemies, replaced by Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage at 40 or more Impact Potential.
  • Plunging Attack: drops from mid-air, hitting enemies along the way and dealing AoE damage on landing.
  • Utility passive: a 20-hour Exploration Expedition in Snezhnaya, not counting Nod-Krai, returns 25% more rewards.

Valeriy constellations: C1, C2, C4, and C6

ConstellationMain effect
C1Energy refund from the barrage, plus a much larger first Skill cast
C2Party-wide 100 EM, and excess gauge converts into shield strength
C4Higher gauge cap and faster gauge generation
C6Double damage on the barrage and Thunderstorm Shell, plus CRIT bonuses

C1

Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage restores 6 Energy on use, plus another 1.5 Energy for every 10 points of Impact Potential spent above 40. The refund caps at 15 Energy per use and can only trigger once every 15 seconds. Separately, the first Skill cast after entering combat grants an extra 150% of the usual Impact Potential.

C2

Casting the Skill gives the whole party 100 Elemental Mastery for 18 seconds. On top of that, while the Electro Shield is active and the gauge is already full, anything that would grant more Impact Potential instead pumps up the shield. Every excess point adds shield absorption equal to 8% of Valeriy’s ATK, with a ceiling of 20 converted points.

C4

The Impact Potential cap rises by 30, and the gauge fills 30% faster. Because Charge the Breach rewards every point spent, the increased limit directly strengthens the Assault Command buff.

C6

Both Mortar Fire: Close-Range Barrage and the Thunderstorm Shell deal 100% more damage. For 7 seconds after either connects, CRIT Rate against Electro damage rises by 10%, and if that Electro damage counts as Stellar-Conduct reaction damage, CRIT DMG goes up by 40% as well.

Treat every number here as provisional. Beta figures for Version 7.2 characters have been described as movable by roughly 5 to 10 percent, and mechanics themselves can be rewritten between test builds and release. HoYoverse has not confirmed Valeriy’s talents, his rarity, or a release date, so the shape of his kit is clearer than its exact math right now.
