Snezhnaya was supposed to be the last stop before the sky. That is the assumption a lot of players have carried since the original Teyvat chapter previews, and the newest wave of leaks pushes back on it hard. Instead of Celestia opening up once the Cryo Archon’s story wraps, the claim is that Version 8.0 goes backwards in time — to Khaenri’ah, during the Cataclysm. Alongside that, a fresh batch of kit details has surfaced for Danica, the Electro character built to stand next to the Tsaritsa.
Quick answer: None of this is official. The leaks put Danica in Version 7.3 on December 16 as a 5-star Electro buffer and resistance shredder, and claim Version 8.0 — projected for August 25, 2027 — skips Celestia entirely in favor of a map concept called “Frozen Moments in History.”
What the Version 8.0 leak actually claims
Two points sit at the center of it. The first is blunt: there is no Celestia in Version 8. The second is the map design, described as “Frozen Moments in History.” Read together, the reasoning is that Version 8.0 does not add a new modern region at all, but instead lets you walk through preserved slices of the past.
Khaenri’ah is the obvious candidate for that framing. The nation was destroyed roughly 500 years ago, so a playable version of it would have to be a snapshot rather than a living region — a frozen moment, in the most literal sense. Hyperborea comes up in the same conversation, and it is already tied to Snezhnaya’s own map plans as a separate ruined area slated to arrive during the 7.x run, complete with the Blue Crystal Nail.
The lore groundwork is being laid in the meantime. Version 7.1 carries the title “A Requiem for the Underworld,” and Dainsleif and Rhinedottir — Gold — are the two figures most closely bound to Khaenri’ah’s fall. Dainsleif is also expected to factor into the tail end of the Snezhnaya arc.

Danica release date and role
Danica is a 5-star Electro character from Snezhnaya, presented as a maid and shown assassinating a passenger during the train sequence of the Transcendence trailer. Her Vision appears on her upper back as a Stellar Linchpin, which is the visual shorthand for a character built around the Stellar reactions. She is voiced by Natalie Van Sistine in English and Yumi Hara in Japanese.
The leaked release window is Version 7.3 on December 16, sharing the patch with the Tsaritsa. She is not a damage dealer. Her job is to sit in the second slot of a team with the Tsaritsa on field and hand out buffs.
Danica’s leaked kit: buffs, resistance shred, and healing
At C0 she provides an Attack buff and an Elemental Mastery buff, with C1 extending those numbers. The more interesting piece is the resistance shred, which covers three elements at C0 rather than one.

The application rate is the weak spot. One Electro instance every six seconds is slow, and Stellar Conduct wants steady Electro on the target to keep triggering. Danica can support a Stellar Conduct team, but she is not going to carry the Electro half of it on her own.
Healing is the least settled part. Some reports place it on her Elemental Burst, others put it behind C2. Until a beta build fixes it in place, plan a team that already has its own sustain rather than assuming she covers it.
Why the Dendro resistance shred stands out
Cryo and Electro shred makes sense for a character designed around Stellar Conduct and a Cryo Archon. Dendro does not fit either. Nothing in the current Snezhnaya lineup obviously wants it, which is why the shred is being read as a hint pointed at something later.
Noy is the name attached to that theory, a Snezhnaya character from the Transcendence trailer rumored for Version 7.5. If a Dendro unit does land mid-7.x, Danica’s shred would already be waiting for it. That connection is speculation built on a leak, so hold it loosely.
Which characters Danica’s buffs help
Because the Attack and Elemental Mastery buffs are generic and the shred covers three elements, she is not locked to one team. Sandrone, the Cryo main DPS built around Stellar Conduct, benefits directly. So does Mitya, the Electro sub-DPS expected in Version 7.2. Wriothesley picks up value from the Cryo shred even though he predates the whole system.
Her constellations tell a different story. C2 and C6 are shaped around the Tsaritsa specifically, which is the usual pattern for a support released in the same patch as the unit it exists to serve. At C0 she is flexible; past C2 she is increasingly a Tsaritsa accessory.
How much of this is confirmed
Almost none of it. Version 7.0 launched on August 12, 2026 with Odette, the free 4-star Alyosha, and the Cryo Traveler, and everything from 7.1 onward is leak territory. Kit numbers change between beta builds routinely, elements have already flipped once in this cycle — Vodyanitsa was reported as Electro before landing on Hydro — and map names pulled from beta clients are frequently placeholders.
Note: the Version 8.0 claims are further out and thinner than the Danica details. A patch nearly a year past the projected end of Snezhnaya has not entered any beta, so “no Celestia” is a direction rather than a decision you can verify. The safest read right now is that Danica is a real December target worth saving for, and that Khaenri’ah over Celestia is a possibility the story is quietly setting up rather than a plan anyone has signed off on.
