Players poking at the edges of Genshin Impact’s 7.0 base defense event have found that the Trial of the Bastion arena is not sealed. Jump the railing, work your way up the stone wall, and you end up standing on terrain the game never meant you to reach. It has been passed around as a hidden parkour mode, which it is not, but the route is real and repeatable.
Quick answer: There is no parkour mode. In Trial of the Bastion, run to the right side of the stone arena, hop the railing onto the grass, and climb the stone wall bordering the playable area — you will be standing outside the domain boundary, and running off that edge drops you into the void until the game respawns you at the domain start point.
The Trial of the Bastion Parkour Route Is Out-of-Bounds Terrain
Trial of the Bastion is a stronghold defense event in Version 7.0, where you build mechanisms and use firearms to hold off waves of enemies. Like other domain-style modes, it takes place on a floating island rather than in the open world. The combat space is a stone arena ringed by a railing, with a strip of grass and a stone wall beyond it that marks the limit of the playable area.

That wall is climbable. Past it, the ground stops behaving like finished level design: the grass is untextured, the sky beyond the island is empty, and the geometry simply ends. Nothing about it is a mode, a challenge, or a hidden objective. It is the unfinished outer shell of the domain, the sort of thing that normally stays hidden because players have no reason to press against the wall.

Note: the event HUD does not switch off out there. The minimap, the wave counter, and the key prompt to start the next wave all stay on screen while you are outside the arena.

What Happens When You Fall Off the Map
Run off the outer edge of the floating island and there is no death barrier waiting for you. The character enters a long freefall below the domain, the camera swings around, and the underside of the whole structure comes into view before the screen fades to black.
You know the fall registered when the fade-out is followed by a loading screen carrying the Ley Lines icon and its lore text. Once it clears, you are placed back at the domain start point with the event still running, free to walk the same route again. Sliding down a vertical wall into the abyss produces the same result as running off the top edge.
| Where you go | What the game does |
|---|---|
| Grass strip past the railing | Nothing — normal movement, HUD intact |
| Top of the stone boundary wall | Nothing — you can walk the untextured edge |
| Off the island edge | Freefall under the domain, then a fade to black |
| After the fade | Ley Lines loading screen, then respawn at the start point |
What You Can See From Outside the Domain
The climb gives you an elevated vantage point over the arena, which is enough to line up a bow shot at the blue portal the event’s monsters spawn from. It is a sightline the fight was never designed around, since the arena floor keeps you level with the portal rather than above it.

The other thing worth seeing is the fall itself. Because the camera pans as you drop, you get a clear look at the underside of the domain — the flat, unfinished base the entire stronghold sits on top of. It is a short window before the screen fades, so it is easier to catch on a second attempt when you already know where the edge is.
How Long the Trial of the Bastion Event Runs
The route only exists while the event’s domain is live, so it has a hard expiry date. Trial of the Bastion opened on September 7, 2026 and closes on September 17, 2026, which leaves a short window to try it.

| Event | Dates |
|---|---|
| Trial of the Bastion | September 7 – September 17, 2026 |
| Great Expeditionist Challenge (7.0 flagship) | August 28 – September 14, 2026 |
| To Temper Thyself and Journey Far | August 10 – November 2, 2026 |
Out-of-bounds terrain like this turns up regularly in instanced Genshin Impact content, and it usually gets patched or walled off once enough people find it. If you want to see the underside of the Bastion for yourself, the climb takes under a minute and the worst outcome is a loading screen.
