Town orders are the backbone of The Town’s economy in Graveyard Keeper 2, and they run on a schedule that is easy to get wrong. Everything happens at the chalk order board inside the Town Warehouse, every order wants a packed supply box rather than loose materials, and the payout lands on a fixed day rather than the moment you hand the goods over.

Quick answer: Accept an order at the Town Warehouse board on Pride day, craft the requested supply boxes, drop them down the warehouse cargo hatch before Pride day comes around again, then return to the board on that day to collect.

Town order rules you have to work around

The order system has a small set of hard constraints. None of them are negotiable, and most of the confusion around town orders comes from breaking one of them without noticing.

  • Orders can only be accepted on Pride day, the day marked with the purple sun icon.
  • You can hold a maximum of two orders at the same time.
  • Every order asks for one of 22 kinds of supply box, such as Supply: Iron, Supply: Fabric or Supply: Building materials I.
  • Only boxes that make it all the way to the Town Warehouse are counted.
  • Each shop offers two orders per tier, so upgrading traders is what expands the order pool — 76 orders exist across all traders.

Completed orders pay out in Likes, the town happiness currency, and a repeatable order returns to the board so you can take it again. That is why town orders are described in-game as the main source of happiness.

Delivering a supply box to the Town Warehouse

Walk into the Town Warehouse on Pride day and interact with the orders board. Pick the order you want from the list — the first one most players see is Supply: Iron for Jack. Remember you can only carry two active orders, so do not fill both slots with something you cannot produce yet.

Head back to your yard and open the workbench that builds the box you need. Supply: Iron is packed at Woodworking Workbench 1, where the recipe lists the exact materials required for one crate. Supply boxes are produced at your own crafting stations and in the Factory, never bought from a trader.

Carry the finished crates back to the Town Warehouse. The building sits in the liberated part of town, and the world map is the fastest way to line up the route if you have not learned the streets yet.

Climb down the ladder inside the warehouse to the cargo drop-off hatch and deposit the crates there. This is the delivery point that registers boxes against an order. Extra goods you do not need for an order can also be sold at the warehouse for money.

Check the orders board to confirm the progress counter has moved, then wait for the next matching day to collect. Payout does not happen the moment the crate lands in the hatch — you wait a full week until the order’s day comes back around, and then interact with the board to take the reward.

Dropping the box into the hatch on Pride day itself is too late for that week’s payout. The crate has to be sitting in the warehouse before the day arrives.

Urgent orders vs regular orders

The two order types share the same board but behave very differently once accepted, and picking the wrong one for your current production rate is how a slot gets wasted.

  • Urgent orders have a deadline of one week for complete delivery; anything left in a partial stack does not roll forward.
  • Regular orders add up deliveries week after week, so you can chip away at a 30-box request across several cycles.

Urgent versions pay noticeably more Likes than the regular version of the same request, which is the trade-off for the deadline. The Happy supplier bonus adds a further 5 or 10 Likes on top, depending on the order.

Supply: Kitchen Utensils x20Apothecary / Tier IIUrgent40
Supply: Clothes II x30Tailor / Tier IIIUrgent50

Tier III orders top out at 50 Likes but demand 30 boxes, which is only realistic once your Factory is producing that supply line automatically. Early on, the low-count Tier I orders are the more reliable income.

The Supply: Iron order and Jack’s “Town Supplied” dialogue

The first order doubles as a quest step. Workshop Hours asks you to fulfill orders and then talk to Jack in the Town Warehouse, and the “Town Supplied” dialogue option stays greyed out until the Supply: Iron order has actually been delivered and closed out on the board.

The order is confirmed complete when the board shows the delivery registered and, on the matching day, hands over the money and the Town Gratitude reward. Only then does Jack’s dialogue unlock. Finishing it gives +10 reputation with Jack, a Town Gratitude, and access to Jack’s next trade tier.

Dropping the crate into the warehouse and immediately talking to Jack will not work, even if the order reads 1/1. Interact with the order desk on Pride day first to collect the payment, select the order again to take the Gratitude, and speak to Jack after that.

Unlocking more orders

What appears on the board depends on the town’s capacity. Building a shop in The Town brings along a trader; upgrading it through each tier grants village reputation, expands stock, increases the weekly happiness allowance, and supplies two new town orders. Shops use either house plots or yard plots, meaning the number of available plots sets the limit on active order lines.

That makes the loop fairly clean once it is set up. Build and upgrade shops, let the Factory pack the supply boxes those traders want, keep two orders running at all times, and time every drop-off so the crates are already sitting in the warehouse when Pride day comes back around.
