Grow a Chicken Fighter: All Eggs and Hatch Pools

Each egg type, the chickens that lay it, and the hatch odds inside every pool.

Eggs drive every unlock in Grow a Chicken Fighter. You hatch a chicken, that chicken lays a different egg, and that next egg is how you reach rarer fighters. The Flock is where you inspect, hatch, or sell whatever you are holding.

Quick answer: Open the Flock to view your eggs, then hatch them there. Each egg type has a fixed hatch pool, and many chickens can lay a different egg that unlocks the next set of fighters.

Egg laying and hatch pools

Every egg contains its own chicken pool. A chicken can also produce another egg type, which is why the right fighter matters more than hatching at random. Some chickens always lay one egg. Others split their output across two types.

Chickens keep laying while you are offline. Fusing a chicken can raise its egg drop potential and the chance of a better rarity when it does lay. You confirm a new egg by finding it in the Flock. You confirm a hatch when the new chicken appears in that same menu.

How to get eggs in Grow a Chicken Fighter

Most eggs come from chickens you already own. After a chicken lays, the egg sits in the Flock until you hatch it. Select the egg and use Open 1 when you are ready.

Spare eggs can be sold from the Flock instead of hatched. A Nest Egg, for example, can be sold for $60 if you need cash more than another common chicken.

A few eggs skip the normal laying chain. The Rewards menu can include a Thunder Egg claim once the listed tasks are done. The claim stays locked until those tasks are finished.

The Blazing Egg is not laid by a standard chicken. You get it by finishing the Hot Egg challenge in the center arena. The Grudge Egg is currently unavailable.

Nest Egg and Scratch Egg

The Nest Egg is the first pool most players see. Classic Rooster always lays it. Farmer Rooster lays it 60 percent of the time. Those two chickens, plus Cosmo Brat and Viking Rooster, are the Nest Egg hatch targets.

Scratch Egg is the first real branch. Cosmo Brat always lays it. Farmer Rooster, Bow Chick, Viking Rooster, Slugger Hen, Taser Hen, NPC Chick, and Pizza Rooster can also produce it at lower rates. Scratch is the egg that opens Charm, Circuit, Arena, Cursed, and Diner lines.

Taser Hen lays Circuit Egg 75 percent of the time. Drone Hen, Hacker Hen, Laser Rooster, Magnet Hen, Mecha Rooster, and Nano Rooster always lay Circuit after that. Pizza Rooster lays Diner Egg 80 percent of the time and is also the main chicken that comes back out of it.

Spider Chicken lays Fang Egg 60 percent of the time. Bombardier Rooster, Mantis Hen, and Puffer Hen always lay Fang once they are in the flock. NPC Chick lays Cursed Egg 80 percent of the time. Stonks Hen always lays Cursed.

Thunder Egg, Royal Egg, Fortune Egg, and Void Egg

Thunder Egg is the wide mid-game pool. Aurora Hen, Thunderclap, Frostbite Hen, Magma Rooster, Quake Rooster, Sergeant Hen, Sandstorm Rooster, Static Chick, Tsunami Hen, and Twister Hen always lay it. Viking Rooster, Crest Rooster, Astro Chick, and Commando Rooster can also produce Thunder at lower rates. Aurora Hen is the rare 1 percent hatch inside that same egg.

Royal Egg sits behind Rooster of Fortune, Basilisk Rooster, Valkyrie Hen, Crest Rooster, and Founder Rooster. Fortune Egg is the Baron Cluck line. Baron Cluck always lays it. Blitz Rooster lays Fortune 55 percent of the time, and Founder Rooster lays it 50 percent of the time.

Void Egg is a late pool. Moonwalk Hen and Probe Rooster always lay it. Astro Chick lays Void 70 percent of the time after you pull one from Thunder.

Colossus Egg and Ordnance Egg

Founder Rooster lays Colossus Egg 25 percent of the time. That is a low rate, and Founder itself is already a rare Thunder or Royal hatch. Rumble Rooster is the main Colossus result at 46 percent.

Ordnance Egg comes from Ronin Hen at 16 percent and Commando Rooster at 7 percent. Commando is easier to reach first because Thunder Egg can hatch one at 12 percent. Sergeant Hen can come out of Ordnance even though that hen lays Thunder, not Ordnance.

Blazing Egg and Grudge Egg

Blazing Egg is the event egg. Finish the Hot Egg challenge in the center arena to receive it. Its hatch pool is small and includes Baron Cluck, Founder Rooster, Ghost, and Aurora Hen. The arena is also where timed events run, including Golden Goose countdowns.

Grudge Egg has no current drop source. If one is in your Flock from an earlier window, Cosmo Brat is the listed hatch at 10 percent. Until the egg returns, Cosmo Brat still comes from Nest Egg and Scratch Egg instead.

Blazing Egg is the event-only pool with high-value hatches. Void Egg is the late chain that starts with Astro Chick. For every other type, keep the chicken that lays the next egg you still need, then hatch from the Flock until the new fighter appears.
