Grow a Chicken Fighter: How to Get Ace Rooster From the Trick Egg

The exact chicken to hatch and the egg to farm to land the Secret-tier Ace Rooster.

The exact chicken to hatch and the egg to farm to land the Secret-tier Ace Rooster.

The Ace Rooster is the Secret-tier chicken tied to one egg and one egg only in Grow a Chicken Fighter. It sits at the very top of the Trick Egg pool, and every other way to reach it runs through a single earlier unlock. The path is short to describe but very grind-heavy in practice, so knowing the exact chain saves you from wasting eggs on dead ends.

Quick answer: The Ace Rooster only hatches from the Trick Egg at a below-1% chance. To get Trick Eggs, hatch the Catalyst Hen (below-1% chance from the Colossus Egg), then deploy it to your coop or place it in your Incubator so it lays eggs, which include a 2% chance at the Trick Egg.

What the Trick Egg hatches

The Trick Egg arrived with Update #3 and holds five chickens across five rarities. The Ace Rooster is the rarest of the group, so most hatches will land one of the four common results before it finally appears.

You know it worked when the Ace Rooster shows up in your Flock and Index as a Secret chicken after a Trick Egg hatch. Because its rate sits under 1%, expect to hatch many Trick Eggs before it lands.

Get your first Trick Egg with the Catalyst Hen

Nothing else in the game lays the Trick Egg to begin with, so your entry point is the Catalyst Hen. It is a Secret chicken with a below-1% chance to hatch from the Colossus Egg, which means you will burn through a stack of Colossus Eggs before it appears.

Farm and hatch Colossus Eggs until you pull the Catalyst Hen. Deploying a Founder Rooster helps, since it lays the Colossus Egg at a 25% rate.
Open your Flock, select the Catalyst Hen, and either deploy it to your coop or drop it into the Incubator so it starts laying eggs.

Leave the Catalyst Hen laying. It produces one egg every 10 minutes, split between the two outcomes below, and each Trick Egg is your shot at the Ace Rooster.

Farm Trick Eggs faster after the first one

The Catalyst Hen is only there to get you started. Once you hatch a Trick Egg and pull any chicken from its pool, switch to that chicken to lay Trick Eggs at a much better rate. Even the lowest result, the Rare Domino Chick, lays the Trick Egg at a 10% chance, five times the Catalyst Hen’s rate and with faster laying overall.

From that point the loop tightens on itself. Deploy a Trick Egg chicken, collect more Trick Eggs, hatch them, and keep the best layer active while you wait for the Ace Rooster to roll.

Keep Colossus Eggs stocked for the Catalyst Hen

The whole chain depends on Colossus Eggs, both to find the Catalyst Hen and to keep laying while you wait. Since the Catalyst Hen itself sits under 1%, you will need a large supply. Running a Founder Rooster as your Colossus Egg source is the steadiest way to build that stock.

Funding that grind is straightforward. Selling off lower-tier chickens you do not need frees up cash for feeder upgrades, which in turn speeds up how quickly your flock lays.

Free eggs from the Rewards tab and community drops give the early grind a boost while you are still building toward the Catalyst Hen.

Progressing up the Floor plots keeps your chickens active in battle and moves you through the arena rewards that keep the egg economy flowing.

The order never changes. Colossus Eggs get you the Catalyst Hen, the Catalyst Hen gets you your first Trick Egg, and a Trick Egg chicken farms the rest until the Ace Rooster finally hatches. Patience is the real requirement here, since every gate in the chain is a rare roll stacked on top of another.
