Grow a Garden 2 Fat Cat Guide (Sugar Egg)

Hatch Fat Cat from Sugar Eggs and grow your avatar while you steal crops.

Hatch Fat Cat from Sugar Eggs and grow your avatar while you steal crops.

Fat Cat is a Rare pet in Grow a Garden 2. It landed with the Muffin Bake update and looks like a ginger cat with white eyes and a heavy frame. It will not grow your crops. It grows your character, which makes other players less able to stop you when you steal plants.

Quick answer: Submit muffins to the Baker NPC for Sugar Eggs, then hatch Fat Cat at a 20 percent chance.

Fat Cat size boost

Fat Cat has no effect on plants, yield, or garden growth. While the pet is active, it increases the size of your avatar. A larger body takes reduced damage and reduced knockback from each strike, so raids are harder to interrupt.

The boost tracks the cat’s own size. A larger Fat Cat makes you larger. Deploy it in your base to turn the effect on. You will know it worked when your character visibly scales up after the pet is active.

Note: This is a stealing pet. If you only plan to farm, Fat Cat will not change your harvest.

Fat Cat size variants

Every Fat Cat raises your size, but the multiplier depends on the variant that hatches. Mega is the strongest roll. Rainbow sits between Normal and Big.

VariantSize increase
Normal1.15x
Big1.30x
Mega1.50x
Rainbow1.25x

Mega Fat Cat is the best copy at 1.50x. If one hatches from a Sugar Egg, put it in your base for the largest size gain.

Fat Cat hatch chance from Sugar Eggs

Fat Cat only comes from the Sugar Egg. Each egg has a 20 percent chance to hatch it. That makes Fat Cat the second rarest pet in the pool. Muffin Man is rarer still, at a 0.5 percent hatch chance.

A Fat Cat with the Rainbow mutation can also come from the same egg. At 20 percent, one Fat Cat is a likely result after about five Sugar Eggs.

The hatch is done when Fat Cat appears from the Sugar Egg. Deploy it and check that your avatar is larger than it was before. A different pet means that egg missed the 20 percent Fat Cat roll.

Baker NPC Sugar Egg rewards

Sugar Eggs are a Baker reward during the Muffin Bake event. You bake muffins on the Fall Harvest map, turn them in, then open the eggs for Fat Cat.

Harvest Fall-related crops from your garden plot. Those harvests are the ingredients you will bake with.
Add the ingredients to the large Ovens in the center of the Fall Harvest map and bake muffins.
Submit the finished muffins to the Baker NPC. A Rainbow Muffin can be traded for nine Sugar Eggs, along with other rewards. Rainbow Muffins need several rare ingredients, so buy the matching crop seeds from the Shop first.
Open the Sugar Eggs. Fat Cat is a 20 percent chance on each egg. Keep baking and turning in muffins if you need more rolls.

Fat Cat is a raid tool, not a farming tool. Hatch it from Sugar Eggs, keep Mega if you get one, and deploy it before you go after someone else’s crops.
