Grow a Garden 2: What the Swan Pet Does and How to Get It

The Swan is a Legendary pet in Grow a Garden 2 that speeds up how fast your plants grow. It arrived with the Fall Harvest update and sticks to a simple look, with a white body and a long curved neck. You can only pick it up in the Fall Harvest World, and it costs Leaves rather than Sheckles.

Quick answer: The Swan wanders your garden and has a 1% chance each second to spot a nearby plant and spit water on it, cutting its growth time. Buy it in the Fall Harvest World for 1,600,000 Leaves.

How the Swan’s watering ability works

The Swan does not boost growth on a fixed timer. Instead, every second it has a 1% chance to notice a plant within range and stop to spit water on it. That water shortens the plant’s remaining growth time. Because the trigger is chance-based, the effect comes in bursts rather than a steady stream.

Detection range is what decides whether a plant is close enough to get watered. A Normal Swan spots plants within 5 studs, and its water splash covers a 5-stud radius. Larger variants see farther and splash wider, so they reach more of your garden at once. After it finishes watering, the Swan sits on a 5-second cooldown before it can spit again.

One important limit: the boost only helps plants that have not matured yet. Once a crop is fully grown, the Swan does nothing for it, and it never changes the value of your produce. If you want to raise harvest value, pets like the Golden Dragonfly, Shadow Dragon, and Unicorn handle that side instead.

Swan variants and their scaling

The Swan comes in Normal, Big, and Mega sizes, each with a Rainbow version, for six forms in total. Bigger sizes are not just cosmetic. They see farther, splash wider, and change how strong the growth boost is. The Big Swan applies growth at the standard rate, the Normal Swan is only half as effective, and the Mega Swan is stronger than both.

Normal5 studs5 studs0.5x
Big9 studs7.5 studs1x (standard)
Mega15 studs10 studs1.5x

Because the ability is chance-based, running more than one Swan keeps water landing on your crops more often. Placing several variants together gives you steadier coverage across a larger garden.

How to get the Swan in Grow a Garden 2

The Swan only appears in the Fall Harvest World, and it can spawn anywhere on that map with a 0.4% chance. When one shows up, walk over to it and buy it for 1,600,000 Leaves. Leaves are a separate currency from Sheckles, so you cannot pay with your normal money.

Speak to the Explorer NPC in the middle of the map. Open the teleport menu and choose the Fall Harvest map to enter the world where the Swan lives.
Earn Leaves by buying Fall seeds, planting them in your garden, and selling the harvests. You need a large stock of Leaves before a Swan appears, since one purchase costs 1,600,000.
Watch the map for a Swan to spawn, approach it, and pay the Leaves to buy it. If luck is on your side, the pet that spawns can be a Big Swan or Mega Swan instead of the Normal size.
Drop the Swan into your garden. Once placed, it starts wandering and will begin spitting water on your growing plants.

You will know the Swan is working when it pauses over a plant and splashes water onto it, which trims that crop’s remaining growth time. If nothing seems to happen, check that you have unmatured plants inside its range, since fully grown crops are ignored. Pairing the Swan with value-boosting pets covers both faster growth and higher-value harvests as your Fall Harvest garden fills out.
