In Grow a Garden’s 2026 Halloween Event, the Eyeball Monster costs more than any other pet. This Divine-rarity pet is purchased with Candy Corn, the event’s currency, and has one ability that affects three aspects of your farm: it can reduce pet cooldowns, give fruit a mutation, or advance plant growth. One easy-to-miss restriction is that you cannot equip it on the event plot.
Quick answer: Buy the Eyeball Monster from the Frightening Fauna stall in Ghoul Garden for 30,000 Candy Corn, then equip it in your regular garden, not on the Ghoul Garden plot.

How to buy the Eyeball Monster in Grow a Garden
The Eyeball Monster is a shop purchase, not an egg hatch, so there are no odds on the pet itself. The randomness comes from the shop’s stock.

The Frightening Fauna shop’s inventory is randomized, with a new roll every five minutes, so the Eyeball Monster may be absent from a particular rotation. If a patch changes its cost from 30,000, use the price currently displayed in the shop.

Candy Corn only comes from Halloween activity, so reaching 30,000 means growing and handing in event produce. There are two ways to earn it.
- Grow a Garden Sales: sell Halloween crops harvested from the Halloween Garden plot for Candy Corn.
- Witch’s Brew cauldron: contribute Halloween fruit or fruit carrying a Halloween mutation, including fruit from your regular garden.
The cauldron pays out to everyone who contributed once it fills. Those rewards can include Candy Corn, but they don’t always, so selling in Grow a Garden Sales is the more predictable source. Keep track of your total so you know when it’s worth checking the stall on each refresh.

Eyeball Monster Gaze ability: Targets and effects
The Eyeball Monster’s ability is called Gaze. It triggers once every 20 minutes. Each time, the pet flies out and stares at four different targets in your garden, which can be any mix of pets, fruit and plants. Each target receives the effect that matches its type.
| Target type | Gaze effect |
|---|---|
| Pet | Passive ability cooldowns advanced by 4 minutes |
| Fruit | 20% chance to gain the Spooky mutation |
| Plant | Growth advanced by 10 minutes |
Its effect speeds up the activation of your other pets’ passives. This is most useful when your garden has high-tier pets like the Manticore, whose abilities are worth triggering more often. The effects on fruit and plants can also boost your harvest: plants mature sooner, while fruit may gain a mutation that increases its value. Should a patch change the numbers, check the pet’s in-game card for the current values.

Where to equip the Eyeball Monster
Pets are disabled on the Ghoul Garden plot, and the Eyeball Monster is no exception. You can’t equip it on the event plot, so Gaze won’t help your Halloween crops there. Equip it in your regular garden, where its 20-minute timer can run and its targets include your normal pets, fruit and plants.
The order is simple. Grow and sell Halloween crops on the event plot to earn Candy Corn, buy the Eyeball Monster during the event, then put it to work in your main garden. If a future hotfix allows pets on the Ghoul Garden plot, the equip screen will show it. Until then, the regular garden is the only place it does anything.
