Grow a Garden is the 2025 stop in The Hunt: Roblox 20, and it is the last of the twenty historical years before Year Infinity opens up. The in-game task is a straight fetch loop with a twist. An NPC named Sam wants 50 fruits for a 20-year-old Chilli Mango tree, and the only place to get them is a garden guarded by an owl that chases you the moment you start picking.

Quick answer: Cross to the Tree Island, talk to Sam, steal fruit from the Wise Owl’s Garden, and submit until the counter hits 50/50. Then plant and fully grow the Chilli Mango seed he gives you.

What the Timeless Roots badge gives you
Finishing the quest pays out three separate things, and they do not all arrive in the same place. The badge and the seed land inside Grow a Garden, while the avatar item has to be collected from the anniversary hub.
| Reward | Type | Where it lands |
|---|---|---|
| Timeless Roots | Roblox badge | Grow a Garden |
| Chilli Mango Seed | Quest item | Your inventory |
| Grown From a Garden | UGC neck accessory | The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub |
Grown From a Garden is a Roblox-made accessory that is off sale, so there is no marketplace shortcut. The badge itself carries the description “Awarded for successfully growing the Chilli Mango tree during THE HUNT: ROBLOX 20 Event!” and sits at a roughly 16.8 percent win rate, with about 79,286 players holding it so far.

Both event locations sit outside your normal plot, and red arrows point you toward them the moment you spawn in.
- Tree Island: a floating platform marked ROBLOX 20, reached by a long green path from the main garden. Sam stands beside a large stump with a “Fruits Stolen 0/50 Fruits” banner above it.
- Owl Island: Find the Wise Owl’s Garden beyond the keep out sign on the map’s far side. Fruit from this location is the only source that counts.
Sam’s dialogue tree has four options. Number 1 is “Who are you?”, number 2 is “What is this?”, number 3 is “Give Stolen Plants” and number 4 backs out. Option 3 is the one you will use over and over.

You can start from the Grow a Garden experience page if the event portal in the hub has already registered your 2024 completion.
How to steal 50 fruits for Sam

Every crop you are holding cuts your walk speed by 2, so a huge stack turns the escape into a crawl. Carrying several fruits per trip still beats fifty single runs, but there is a point where an extra fruit just gets you caught.
Grow the Chilli Mango tree to trigger the badge
Hitting 50/50 makes the stump grow and hands you 1x Chilli Mango Seed. That seed is a progression item, not the finish line. The badge is written around growing the tree, so equip the seed, plant it in an open plot in your own garden, and leave it alone until the game registers it as fully grown.
Some players see the badge pop the moment the fiftieth fruit is submitted. If yours does not, the tree is the missing piece, not another fifty fruits. Do not sell or discard the seed.
How to confirm the badge and claim the UGC
You will know it worked when the badge notification appears on screen. To double-check afterwards, open your Roblox profile’s badge list or the Timeless Roots badge page, which shows whether your account owns it.
The avatar item is a separate step. Go back to The Hunt: Roblox 20 hub so the 2025 completion registers and Grown From a Garden is handed over. The in-game badge and the hub’s progression track are linked but displayed on different screens, so owning the badge alone does not mean the reward has been collected.
All twenty historical years have to be recorded in the hub before Year Infinity unlocks. If it is still locked after your tree has grown, the 2025 claim is the thing to check first.
The Hunt: Roblox 20 started on September 17th, 2026 and runs through September 28th, 2026, which leaves a comfortable amount of room for the fruit runs and the tree’s grow timer. The fruit loop is the slow part, so getting the seed planted early is the safest way to avoid finishing the theft with no time left for the thing the badge is actually named after.
