Grow a Garden: How to Get the Wise Owl

The Wise Owl is a Divine pet in Grow a Garden, and it is the hardest reward to pull from the Moon Chest. It arrived with the second part of the Harvest Moon Event on August 8, 2026, and it sits at the very bottom of the chest’s odds. If you want it, you are working toward one specific chest and accepting a very small drop chance.

Quick answer: Feed matching plants to the Harvest Moon Owl until it reaches 500 points, claim the Moon Chest, and hope the 0.5% Wise Owl roll lands.

Reach 500 points at the Harvest Moon Owl

The Wise Owl has no direct unlock. You earn it only by opening a Moon Chest, and the chest itself is earned by satisfying the Harvest Moon Owl. Everything starts with feeding the Owl the plants it wants.

Check which plant trait the Harvest Moon Owl is currently craving. The Owl only accepts plants that match that trait, so anything else does nothing for your progress.
Feed matching plants to add points. Each valid plant pushes the Owl’s progress bar upward toward its target.
Keep feeding until the Owl hits 500 points. Once it is satisfied, it hands you a Moon Chest, which is the container that can hold the Wise Owl.

Moon Chest reward pool and Wise Owl odds

The Moon Chest holds six possible rewards, and the Wise Owl shares the lowest slot with the Luna Bloom Seed. At 0.5%, it is the rarest pet the chest can give.

Because the odds are so low, expect to open many chests before the Wise Owl appears. There is no pity system, so every chest is an independent roll at that same 0.5%.

Other chests that can drop the Wise Owl

The Moon Chest is not the only source. The Wise Owl can also come from the Exotic Moon Chest and the Rainbow Exotic Moon Chest. Both carry the same 0.5% chance for the pet, so they give you extra rolls without improving your individual odds on any single opening.

What the Wise Owl does

The Wise Owl earns its Divine rank through two passive abilities that help with pet leveling and mutation spread.

Its first passive, Wisdom’s Ruler, gives extra XP over time to pets that do not have pet mutations. This effect does not stack, so running more than one Wise Owl will not multiply the bonus.

The second passive, Ruler’s Wisdom, works on fruit mutations. The Wise Owl can occasionally copy a mutation from a random fruit in your garden, and each copied mutation then has a chance to pass to another fruit. This gives you an additional route to spread mutations without depending only on other sources.

How to confirm you got it

When a chest rolls the Wise Owl, the pet is added straight to your inventory as a Divine-rarity pet. If a chest gives you a seed, the Moon Snail, or the Anglerfish instead, the Wise Owl roll did not land, and you need another chest. Keep the Harvest Moon Owl fed and repeat the 500-point cycle to keep generating more attempts while the second part of the Harvest Moon Event is live.
