Two editions are confirmed at launch. The Standard Edition is the base game. The Ultimate Edition adds, in Rockstar’s words, “an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story.”
| Edition | US price | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $79.99 | Base game |
| Ultimate | $99.99 | Base game plus premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and extra in-story content |
Everyone who pre-orders, or buys the game before November 20, 2026, receives the Vintage Vice City Pack. It bundles a set of nostalgia items that nod back to the classic Vice City era.
Pre-order date, release date, and pre-load
Pre-orders begin at midnight local time on June 25, 2026, across the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, the Rockstar Store, and select retail partners. The game launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Digital pre-orders allow pre-loading from November 12, so the game is ready to play the moment it unlocks. Physical copies also become available from November 12, but the box contains a download code rather than a disc. Rockstar moved to a code-in-box format reportedly to reduce the risk of leaks.
| Milestone | Date |
|---|---|
| Pre-orders open | June 25, 2026 (midnight local time) |
| Physical copies available | November 12, 2026 |
| Digital pre-load starts | November 12, 2026 |
| Vintage Vice City Pack offer ends | Before November 20, 2026 |
| Release date | November 19, 2026 |
Platforms at launch and PC status
GTA 6 launches only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The price is the same on both platforms. There is no PC version at launch, and Rockstar has not announced a PC release date.
The game ships as a single-player experience. Rockstar has not detailed an online mode for launch, mirroring how GTA Online arrived after GTA 5’s main release.
Why GTA 6 costs $79.99
The $79.99 Standard Edition price is a $10 jump from the $69.99 baseline that has defined this console generation. Before the official reveal, a brief FNAC Portugal listing showed placeholder figures of €89.99, €119.99, and €199.99, which were later confirmed as provisional values rather than final prices.
The cover art reveal that announced the pre-order date sits below if you want to see how Rockstar framed the launch.
